SAF is the most stubborn man in Europe. Avia, I think most Manchester united fans will agree with me on that. Beckham would do well to attest as well. Ronaldo it seems realized that this past season too.

All the changes and learning has been done and implemented by Queiroz. I remember an interview with SAF where he praised Queiroz for using those new techniques because he was set in his ways.

im talking about SAFs ability to “learn”

So? he sold becks, it didnt kill manutd, im not saying he aint nuts (look up Stam & Van the man for further info)

but the guys almost like a chameleon in the way he will adapt

and when was the last time Carlo did the treble?

Avia, I think you mean do we want him back – and no, been there, done that thank you very much :)

I think Seedorf for Milan is a lot like Cruz for Inter. Both are aging superstars for their respective teams and both have a history of deciding important games. The problem they are both having is that they dont know how to quit while they are ahead.

It is sad, really, because they are killing whatever reputation they had. Seedorf was the best at one point. Cruz could pull a goal out of his ass. Now, they both sit there and look confused when some kid steals the ball of their foot or they shoot it over the net.

    Both should retire.

You see, this is what would worry me about Carlo were I a Milan fan:

“I am also sure that like last season we will have a great end to the campaign for our objective, which is to qualify for the Champions League again.”

What happened to the scudetto talk? The coach gives up, everyone gives up. He just seems so… nonchalant. He should fired up and spitting mad. He should be fighting for every point every bit as hard as Pato (I want to hate him, but I just cant – he is just too darn cute!).

Jo – i thought the competition from Dino would light a fire under Seedorfs ass but he has really disappointed this season

Let me know if u change your mind?

pat – im not sure we can do a like for like comparison between Carlo and SAF.

the club set ups are TOTALLY different with squad comings & goings at manutd pretty much in safs hands

    BUT HE’S DEF THE BOSS!!!

    What and ancelotti is trophyless?!

Agree with you Avia, cant compare the two. But my point was that SAF needed 3 years to reubild his squad between 2003 and 2006. These things dont happen overnight.

Yeah seedorf should go at the end of the season and gourcuff should return. I dont think you will get too many arguments on that one.

i bet u any money that if we played man utd 2moro (and both teams had the full squad) Carlo will stick with what worked last time whereas SAF will anticipate Carlo better the 2nd time round

Yeah, when we start winning again, he will be a genius for taking the pressure of the team.

You dont need to go the press and start screaming. You need to do that in the dressing room.

Johanna, no one in the milan team says a damn thing that hasnt been analyzed by a bunch of PR experts. That includes Ancelotti.

Cant really put that to the test, thoh. Can we? And dont say thats because we never made it to the CL this year.

SAF has gone up against Ancelotti twice and lost both times. If man united would win, hypothetically, tomorrow, it will be because their squad is much better than ours is right now.

Right now we dont need the scudetto talk, we dont need any talk at all. All we need to do is take it game by game and forget the rest.

Acelotti’s time surely should be up. The team is just not right, mentally. They have little fight or ambition left in them. We need a new manager to shake things up. This is another season without a trophy even though we have 10 new players on the roster.

Some players need to exit along with Carletto, and i fear they won’t be going anywhere as long as he’s there:

    Favalli
    Seedorf
    Inzaghi
    Sheva
    Beckham

    etc…

So they say there will be no more friendlies (after the next one) which coincidentally coincides with beckhams end date. hmm.

Last year milan played 16 games in the space of a month and a half to make up for missing a week to the world club cup. It ruined their season. they had walking wounded and exhausted players against arsenal and got knocked out of the champions league and then the champions league spot.

That wasn’t going to happen again that’s for sure…oh hold on, lets travel around the world midweek when we’re not losing games at home or in uefa cup and play the exhausted players in beckham promotion games for money. Ridiculous – and that’s not Ancellotti’s decision.

“So they say there will be no more friendlies (after the next one) which coincidentally coincides with beckhams end date. hmm.”

Fadayn, I was thinking the exact same thing — even before they made that announcement. I thought it was strange for the last month that they took a player who hadn’t played in two months and then had him play in every game, which became two games a week for the past several. Then I saw this friendly coming up this week and heard the cash register ringing.

Beckham did great in January and then started to fade slowly since that Scotland match. But I think the same about all the players who have started every single game for the past couple of months, its a lot at any age. I don’t know Ancelotti as well as you guys, but he should be able to do better subbing with the talent you have on the bench. Can’t be worse than grinding (basically) one group of players into the ground. Especially when you have so many injuries.

Beckham probably would have remained a helpful addition to the team (and some senior players more effective) if some common sense was used. It’s not just Milan though, and not just with Beckham, and certainly not just Serie A. Big teams have been beating the crap out their players for $$$ more and more — I think since the Premiership started.

No it isn’t directly but Ancelotti does tolerate it, not to mention openly advocating Beckham sticking around. He toes the management line very loyally where a more strongly willed “team boss” might have spoke against these things or resigned in protest.

Either way, I haven’t seen any indication ever in Ancelotti’s personality at Milan that would suggest that he recognises the shortcomings of his squad and is willing to make wholesale changes in the transfer market.

    Diane – well spotted!

Ive been arguing the same thing for quite awhile now regardind Carlos use of the squad

Especially over the past two seasons, he has used the same core of players and pretty much ground them all down WITHOUT giving any thought to bringing in any new players (regardless of their age)

All you had to do was look at guys like Kaka, Pirlo & Rino to know they was exhausted and whats Carlo done this season ??

    Sweet bupkiss!

Now he’s running guys like Zambrotta & Becks into the ground

Most Milanista will tell you that Carlo infact, doesnt seem to comprehend the concept of subbing – it simply does not compute!

I’m glad I wasn’t too far off base, Avia. I don’t coddle but I don’t like to kill the boys either! (Plus what fun, or how productive, is it to watch them dragging around the pitch with lead legs).
