This is the way I see the squad for the future:

Kaka
Pirlo
Pato
Gourcuff
Paloschi
Oddo
and even Bonera
Nesta

These guys are a core to build the team around. We need a couple of good additions to this core.

Gattuso
Ambrosini
Kaladze
Emerson (?)
Kalac

These guys, except the last two, have been the bedrocks in recent years but time has come to dial down their first team contribution over the next season. Recruitment should be aimed to find new players who can back them up and over the season, take over from them completely.

Maldini
Seedorf

Damnded if you do, damned if you don't.

All the rest of the squad, with the exception of Ronaldo who should retire before he needs crutches to walk again, are deadwood as far as I'm concerned and should be off loaded or traded for players to fill in the gaps.

Mele, I know I don't know you or anything, and I mean this with all due respect, but dude, you're a red sox fan, they have won the world series twice in the past 5 years. Milan won the Champions League and the Club World Cup within the last year, you're gonna dump it after one shit season, one shit season that leaves you still with a developing player unfolding before your eyes every game like Pato? Not to mention a full squad of guys who can change a game. I'm sorry but as a Roma supporter I know dissapointment, you guys haven't cycled through 4 coaches this season, stick with it mate, pump your team up you have a derby you MUST WIN. You have a lot to still cheer for, a fourth place spot is still in the mix and on any given weekend Milan can pick up three, except when they play Roma, and you guys can play spoiler on Inter's scudetto hopes. Aren't these quality reasons to still watch. I am just a fan of Americans being Serie A fans even if you're a tifiso degli rossoneri.

Good match, could've gone either way but really I do think the difference was made in the coaching. Spaletti has hurt us this season but has been on lately.

avia, i meant when we were leading with 30 minutes to go... carlo only brought on the strikers after roma scored twice..

like everyone else in here i feel like absolute crap after games like this... mele, too descriptive with the plowing your lover part... but yeah, thats pretty much how it goes...

but i would like to remind you guys, that we are still some of the luckiest fans in the world... we have won so much and this team has given us so much joy, asking for more makes me feel like a self-entitled punk ass bitch... there are fans of other teams that have gone generations without ever experiencing the joy of winning of even serie a, much less the cl... we on the other hand have won 2 champions leagues and a serie a in the past 5 years... thats more than most fans have experienced, if not all... think about it... the years of hell napoli fans have had to experience... roma hasnt ever even won the cl... inter for all their glory had to wait for the longest time to even get their paper scudettos...

i hate this feeling, but this is pretty much what makes the wins feel as good as they do...

We seriously must. And we picked random-ass players to score, that's what's more impressive!

Though I did think it was going to be the Duck that scored for us, not Kaka.

BONNIE I DID THE EXACT SAME THING. Clearly, we have some ESP thing going on? Mind, you still got me by calling the score at halftime. I only called it once Seedorf was subbed. And I only got 1 for 2. "Oh man, we're screwed...Giuly's gonna kill that right flank and end up scoring." Oh, le sigh.

Man, I honestly thought I wouldn't feel that bad if Roma won, but I am absolutely gutted.

The second Seedorf was subbed off, I knew the game was gone for us. Ya, he missed a couple of sitters, but it's his first game back in a while. He wasn't the most match-fit player we had out there, but he seemed the hungriest. The look on his face after Roma scored broke my heart.

Random fact- I called the 2-1 score at halftime and named Giuly and Vucinic as the Roma scorers despite them not being on the field at the time. Everyone I watched the game with was a little freaked out, including myself.

Mele, I know exactly how you feel...actually I'm 100% positive everyone here feels the same way you do. After matches like yesterday, all I want to do in the world is say "Eff this, I'm so over this crap" (In fact, those were my own words, just insert about 10 times more profanity in places you see fit).

But, like I said, being a hard-core die hard Rossoneri this season simply equates to being masochistic. Which we all are, because despite their terrible form, we adore them with a passion, and always will, and watch them week in, week out, watching, hoping. Even though our minds cringe and tell us other wise, our hearts override that.

....

If that wasn't the cheesiest thing I've ever said, I'll be damned, but it really is true, ain't it?

MILAN PER SEMPRE.

Avia, believe me I know about highs and lows. I am a born and raised Boston Red Sox fan, but this, this is a bit too much for me all at once. A season of shite. knocked out of the CL, playing like crap, not even in the top 4? Most of you, I'm sure, don't know what it's like to be a Red Sox fan, but this is rather similar.
It's like when you meet a really special girl (or guy) and you click. You go out for a long time, things are going fantastic. Then you show up at their house with roses only to find your mortal enemy in life plowing your lover.

Eventually you bounce back though, if you are one of the true, die-hard fans.
Milan, Milan, Solo con Te
Milan, Milan, Sempre per Te
forza milan.

Having that many strikers just highlighted the point, u had Gila (i think the debate is finally over on his crapness) Paloschi (still trying to establish himself) and Pato (who is gettin there) with Kaka & Pirlo playing on the same bloody pitch!

Once Seedorf came off Milan just turned to hoofing the ball up the park or Kaka running straight at/into Romans!

K, Carletto did put on a striker (2 in fact, Gila & Paloschi came on).

But like you said, it was down to crap finishing (i agree, so many matches recently where we just didnt bury our chances) AND what i refer to as "Keystone Cops" in defense.

Bring back Baresi!
