avia, i said this on another board, but my theory on flamini is that this milan team just doesnt know how to deal with runners in midfield.
We have been saying that he runs and runs but isnt providing that penetration, but as soon as we put him on the wing he is making all kinds of brilliant runs. The point is that this team knows what to do with runners on the wings, pirlo/beckham will send it forward from central midfield but when you have runners in midfield, they just dont know what to do with that.

and the second best defense, oddly!

and second lowest goals against (24 to inter’s 29) – well, considering 1 of our 2 main strikers was out for the season and half of our defence was out thruout – this looks pretty impressive

avia, tho i was thrilled at flamini’s performance today, i dont know if we can truly call that a fullback’s performance. he spent most of his time in the torino half, so we will have to see how he performs against a team with a little more threatening attack.

flamini was right back, becks was supposed to be the winger. good result and great to see pippo lighting it all up again, great fella.

Damn I thought Sheva had scored at first, I was already in the air yelling till I realized it wasn’t him. Good goal though.

beckham – great free kicks and assists for the goals – he combines brilliantly with pippo – second half resorted to long balls which were mostly towards a non existent striker!
maldini – is GOD – very solid, played very high up like in his earlier days – amazing stuff from a 40 year old
senderos – getting better as the season progresses – made sure we didnt suffer from flamini playing too upfront – better at positioning in this game as well
zambro – Ok performance – nothing great – prob our worst player of the night imo
pato – like him better at playing in a slightly deeper position, doesnt help him individually in getting cappacionare but better for the team in terms of getting the ball and keeping it – will have to reconcile himself to this, gets frustrated at not scoring and tries to do too much himself
pippo – impeccable positioning and timing
pirlo – good passing – getting there
kaka – was almost back to his usual form – great runs, beat a number of defenders, couple of really bad misses tho – fouled a lot by torino
flamini – did well as a make shift RB – was very effective in making attacking runs and falling back and making important defensive tackles- ran thruout and not like a headless chicken like people accuse him of – very impressive – seems like he can play in any position
dida – not much to do except for the save on bianchi in the 50 odd min
ambro – did what he was supposed to – always there, fighting for the ball, even fouled the ref!
dinhio – slept for the first 15 mins and then made a beautiful pass to pippo for his – came into his own as the half progressed
flamini and pippo tied for MOTMPosted from

I also just realized WE PASSED JUVE ON GOAL DIFFERENCE!
So if we hadn’t scored as much as we did we could still be in 3rd.
Wow, I never thought we could make it up to 2nd.Posted from

Omg I’m so happy after having a crappy afternoon at my grandpas for a holiday I get to come home in time to see 3 goals scored.
Is it me or did Sheva has this look on his face that said Yay! I get to come out on his face while standing out on the sidelines?
I was happy to see Darmian come on too.
Fla-money (Flamini) went crazy today…he was everywhere!

lol @ Ro “Fla-money”
Maybe im getting sentimental in my old age but a part of me would like to see Shev start sticking them in, he seemed really up for it last week and i think, as long as Carlo rolls him out there and then, he may start scoring again!
Sam – good points, pretty much how i read the match & PIRLO definitely getting back to form, tonight was his best performance in a looooong ass while imo
THE BIG THING TONIGHT imo wasnt so much the personal chosen (although no CrapDorf – thank God!) but that THERE WAS TONS OF MOVEMENT and a GENUINE HUNGER from the players
Kaka, Dino, Flam, Pirlo, Pippo, Becks EVERYONE had their foot on the throttle tonight and our attacks carried alot of momentum instead of the usual start-stop we have come to expect
Lets not forget however, with no disrespect meant, we should have expected to beat Torino really but tonight was a deserved scoreline and the team should take heart (even Carlo!)
Lets just hope that they can keep the momentum going against Roma & Juve next month!

Good win, but against non existent team. Either Torino went against their city rivals and allowed us to win by a necessary margin (conspiracy theory) or Milan did play that well.
Few points: Bianchi is BAD.Posted from

chubby, that conspiracy theory would only work if torino had not much to play for. They are embroiled in a relegation battle and every point counts.

Yeah..We are 2nd.So now Juve can worry about Genoa, not that they have to worry about them.So now we are the team challenging Inter?…Lol
I want to see the same team next time, maybe with Sheva playing.Posted from

i loved the game today…
Flamini, Ambro, SUPER PIPPO!!! played very well.
everybody else was nice.
Dinho was clutch with the passing game today, super nice pass to Pippo for the goal, I like it alot.Posted from

we are only second on goal difference. I think its a little to early to get carried away. As long as it is mathematically possible, I hope we dont feel assured of any place. This was a problem earlier in the season when we fought soo hard to get first place by beating Napoli and then immediately show complacency in the next game to just as quickly give that position away.
I am tempted to say that while I enjoy these 5 goal wins, the 1-0 wins keep us grounded and make sure that we dont get complacent as we are always fighting for it.
We are only in second on goal difference and we have a much tougher schedule ahead. Thats what we should be focusing on.
ps. ancelotti’s tactics of taking the pressure of but just talking about third place and forgetting the other teams has allowed us to focus on the task at hand and winning a game at a time. Gotta give him credit for that.

Becks and Pippos still have it. How they say? The wine gets better with the age? Not so young and jumpy, but mature and sophisticated.

K, you are right. The happiness of finally reaching SECOND place should overshadowed by a fact that we were supposed to look at it from above.

Im just glad that the team moved around the pitch!
