HELL YES. 5-1! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

HAHAHA. Yes, I’m slightly insane. Gahh, I slept right through this match (damn you alarm clock not going off…I’m so mad!), but it looks like my lovable Ricky put in a hell of a performance, hat-trick and all, and the rest of our kick-ass team as well, so I’m definitely going to go download it.

Ro! We missed you mucho, glad to see that you’re back!

    Ah, lovely day this is.

    Galliani on Ringhio
“Absolutely not, he will not leave.”

even though its just rumors but they’re pissing me off, its one thing when they go after Kaka, because he’s “best player in the world” and all that stuff, but when they go after our man…..thats not okay.

Latest on the Dinho saga, Milan want to buy both Dinho & Zambro for 30 million euro. but Barca are asking for more.

Milan sold Sheva for 30 mil and got Pato for 15 mil, so that’s an excess of 15 mil. Plus, they won the CL and the CWC.. and Berslecsoni is the president. They must be loaded with cash. I hope they buy more than just Zambrotta, Dinho, Sheva this summer..

Milan played a very solid game. For me, under ‘normal’ circumstances, watching Brocchi and Gattuso in the same line up don’t really add up. But after watching the game yesterday, it’s not a catastrophic strategy after all. In fact, I liked the way how Brocchi comes back all the time to ‘cover’ for Cafu. My only worry is the defence line. At times, they seem to be sleeping especially on dead ball situations. Inzaghi is Inzaghi, a real goal poacher and I admired his determination throughout the game. Kaka, what can I say? Glad that he’s back. Also, Seedorf’s ’sportmanship’ when he was replaced by Pato despite the former playing a very good game.

The Milan I saw in this game was the Milan that had so much spirit in each of the player, to win the game and to win it good. That’s probably the only thing that have been lacking throughout this season’s campaign. With a spirit like this even the likes of Brocchi can play well! :)

    FORZA MILAN!!!

Oh, I forgot to say about Gattuso’s gesture in passing his captain armband to Kaladze when he got substituted. It was something that I didn’t really expect as I thought it would either be Pirlo or Nesta next in line. But it was a great gesture of camaraderie, a sign that the players are very much united through this troubled time…though, I thought Kaladze passed that same armband to Pirlo.

Great to see these attitudes and spirit during the game (the non-technical aspects of the game):
-Gattuso giving the captaincy armband to Kaladze
    -Gattuso’s lion-heart attitude
-Kaka got fired up during the game (though I thought he dribbled to much at times instead of shooting or passing the ball)
-Seedorf playing his heart out even though he’s never really liked that position
-Seedorf applauding his exit to make way to Pato, whom he embraced (a rare non-Seedorf character)
-Inzaghi’s supernatural spirit and determination, and appreciation of Pato for hitting the post which he converted after rebound
-Brocchi’s work rate throughout the game
    -Pirlo’s and Kaladze’s perpetual stoned expression (??) :)

man, I just realize how good Pirlo looks on the captain’s armband! He definitely look better with it. And thank you Khaladze for passing the armband back to Pirlo, I thought Khaladze getting the armband instead of Pirlo may have hurt Pirlo’s feeling and may create internal conflict between Pirlo and Gattusso, but he gave it to Pirlo and that’s a good thing.

Why Pirlo? I haven’t seen him speak a word. He seems too quiet and reserved. Gattuso has the heart to be a captain and spur the team on, but he needs to be calm in tense moments, which he isn’t. We need someone influential, but also someone who can calm players down.

Campagnolo showed how classy he is. Campagnolo touched the ball and it was a corner but Farina gave Reggina the goal kick, so Campagnolo threw the ball so Milan can get a corner, Campagnolo told what happened to Farina and shook his hands afterwards. pure class act, even if he just told the ref what happened that would be classy alone.

kaladze has played more games for milan than pirlo; captaincy is usually determined by the number of caps a player has.

he mightve given it to pirlo as a goodwill gesture because pirlo just completed 300 games with us last week.

heres to another 300 more! forza pirlo!

After Maldini and Ambro, Kaladze is the most senior Rossoneri in the squad.

A, you mean after Maldini, Ambrosini AND Gattuso, Kaladze is the most senior squad, right? :) Kaladze only joined Milan one season after Gattuso.

Perhaps Pirlo doesn’t have to speak a word to become a captain? He only needs to distribute the ball and his teammates will do something about it. :)

I think Pirlo played more games than Kaladze, if I counted their Serie A and European Cup games correctly. But Kaladze have more caps for Georgia than Pirlo for Italy although Nesta would beat them both to it in terms of playing for his country.

So, I think the passing of the captaincy armband by Gattuso to Kaladze was based on the latter’s seniority in the squad (in terms of years playing for Milan), while Kaladze’s gesture of giving the armband to Pirlo was that of a goodwill, probably like what some said, honoring his 300th game with Milan.

Sheva joined Milan in 1999. Kaladze and Pirlo both joined in 2001.Pirlo has played 300 games for Milan while Kaladze has played 170.

Thanks Ranjeet. I know that at times Kaladze has not been a regular in the team but 130 game discrepancy is a lot don’t you think. Then again he has been injured a fair bit too.

It also has a lot to do with position. KK’s a center back, and Maldini and Nesta have more or less had that position locked since Nesta joined. Whereas Pirlo’s a central playmaker, and he more or less locked his own position as soon as he joined. No one can do what Pirlo does when he’s on form, whereas a lot of people (well, more than one) can do what KK does. KK has never been one of the “core starters” (until our back line left/got too old/needed new knees).

I remember most of his early time at the club was spent on the left in midfield or down back.
