Anyway, I have studying to do. Congrats fellow Milanista. Pippo is a king. Ancelotti is a genius. Sheva and Viudez should both be brought on every game. Hope everyone’s happy that way. Adios!

ranjeet, thats besides the point.
you hate whoever you want, but the lombard derbies are very intense. they are probably our 2nd biggest rival after inter merda.

Yeah they are intense. But no one considers them true rivals. Obviously its bcoz they are a midtable team.

lol, i got no probs with watching Shev suffer!
im just worried that we are gonna and up doing a “Cuffy” on Vuidez
Is he gona sit at home tonight with family, friends and question what future he has at Milan and is it fair for someone like SHEV of all people to be the cause of that???
I totally made up, WE ALL ARE!! I know everyone here celebrated the Pippo goals (even A – sorry, couldnt resist)
But Shev hopefully will be gone at the end of this season (fingers crossed) so why waste time on a has been when we should/could be building for next season and beyond (vuidez will hopefully feature, Shev hopefully wont)

Wow!
Fairly open interview from Carlo ““He gave us a really big hand today,” confessed the Coach. “It was a difficult game and for long periods of the first half Atalanta had us under pressure, but Pippo’s ability to pounce at the right time allowed us to end on a high.”
“Admittedly we are not playing well at the moment and must improve, but we will do it by working on fitness and getting people back on the field. I am aware we aren’t entertaining the fans right now”

I’m still not convinced that Beckham isn’t a waste of money and I still love Sheva, Chelsea destroyed his confidence.

Gratz for a win, gratz for Pippo.
Why so much talk about 10 minutes? If anyone to blame for Viudez’s late intro is Carlo. He had ample time to decide and not to humiliate young player.

today was a huge win….we had more numbers of players missing than at any time in the season, so was more special…and pippo getting a hattrick adds the icing…
i think more than ancelotti having been given ultimatums, he has laid down the law somewhat to fester. his recent comments in interviews – about no mid week friendlies, about dinhio and how hard working players are more important than talented players, his admitting that the team are in a crisis and lack confidence etc – seem to show someone who’s more assertive (or at least seeming so!)…hope this trend continues and we rescue whatever we can from the remainder of this season…
certainly hope he continues to give flamini enough time even when the rest of the guys are back in form.
and hope that fester learns from today’s match that our denfesive problems are huge and need to be fixed urgently in this summer and that loans like senderos and becks and sheva are just loans and not permanent dealsPosted from

Sam – agreed, today was not only a big win but a much needed BOOST to everyone @ Milan, from the kitman all the way up to Berlo/Fester
As Shehan rightly pointed out earlier, this was a big game for us but at times i felt we rode our luck a little, Atalanta came scarily close to dominating for the 2nd half and we seemed to let go for abit, Pippo once again proved that he can win us games regardless of the rest of the teams performance, he even said
“But the smiling Rossoneri legend warned fans not to expect him to repeat the feat too often.
“When I can play a game like this every week, it will be another story,” laughed the goalscoring supremo”
Carlo take note! Rest this guy and use properly and you will be rewarded with performances like today
Forza Pippo! Forza!!
But i think maybe Carlo has had his hand forced slightly in that he went with two strikers??? Heres to hoping that he has FINALLY been forced to ditch the xmas tree PLEASE!!
But i did like the recent comments about the hard training regime thats about to kick off, my only question is WHY NOW???
Why not have this miracle training regime in place BEFORE crisis point????
Why not before we slipped down to 3rd??
Why not before we got slapped out of the UEFA??You mean upto know we’ve been using the same training that got us to 5th last season??

i like how bonera puts the team first. i wish more players in our team could do that.
I remember he played with a high fever too, earlier this year when kaladze went down while warming up for the game.

well we won a decent game today!!!
hmmm.
I only caught the second half, but we looked ok.
PIPPO is still the man. He should play everygame coming on in the 75min.!
-
I would have liked to see more of Viudez, but at least he got his 30seconds… haha.
-
I put the no. 9, just the number, on my long MILAN sleeve home jersey and PIPPO scores a hat trick! I also put the 2007 club world cup winner patch and a CL patch with 9 on it.(just planning ahead) so this may be a preview of things to come!!!!!! with the 9 patch PIPPO scores a hat trick. Actually the number 9 jersey is a tribute to all the #9’s we have had at MILAN. especially King GEORGE!!!

interesting that a change of formation actually worked right. just makes me wonder even more why Carlo is so allergic to change.
I dont want a Rafa billion changes Benetiz like approach from Carlo, but a change was nice and also produced a result.
We have an easy run ahead before a super tough finish and need to make hay while the sun shines.

“You have to prove your worth at Milan very quickly. We can’t afford to give young players several chances to let them grow. It’s perhaps a shame, but it’s like that.”
This is from goal so perhaps ancelotti didnt say it but how does that comment make any sense… Considering the old timers have exactly proved themselves of late

I hear you Pat, that doesn’t make too much sense at all.

patcook. i am relatively certain what goal.com is doing is rehashing articles from when gourcuff left and our justification to send him out on loan.
if you think about it, it all makes sense.
he said that he couldnt handle the pressure of playing, and that he tried too much because he couldnt get sufficient opportunities and that we couldnt give him enough chances because its important to prove your worth immediately.
that is all true and a good justification to send him out on loan. so its probably very likely that he said this stuff in june/july and goal.com is rehashing it in a time when gourcuff is really doing well on the field and ancelotti is struggling in terms of fan support. Its fanning the flames. and its what goal.com does.

It was weird sort of game Patcook, and I don’t know how much of the result you can pin on the tactics. I mean Milan started well and got the breakthrough early. Beckham in his free role looked quite creative with some clever passes. There were quite a number of chances beside the goal created in the first 15 mins or so.
Then Atalanta virtually took over the running of the show. Beckham started being sloppy and indulgent with his passes which didn’t help Milan hold the ball enough once they had repelled another Atalanta attack. Chance after chance came Plasmati’s way but he just fell short of getting it past Abbiati every time. With Milan on the backfoot for so much of the first half one wondered if having Beckham on the right in flat 4-4-2 across midfield might not have served the team better.
Anyway, they survived and got rewarded with a break after which Atalanta came out strangely subdued. They still had plenty of possession but their attacks were uninspired for the most part with some strange long balls that were easily dealt with by Milan.
They really invited Milan to take the initiative back which started to do but rather tentatively. The second half goals kind of just happened out of nowhere through some tentative pushes by a Milan player or two aided in big part by sleepy defending.
Atalanta gave up the ghost and Milan breathed a sigh of relief. Good result, ok performance but I don’t know what to make of this for the near future of the team except perhaps some much needed gain in confidence that comes with a multi-goal, shutout win.
