BigDawg4Milan - Yup, just posted on "Tuesdays Musings" my argument for Boriello to come to the rescue.

Still having flashbacks to Shevs miss! wtf! How did he not manage to score!?!

Tru what u say about Dino, i used to watch him at Barca and loved how defenders were soooo intimidated by him and the way he usually wraps up 2 to 3 players, thereby creating space in the box.

I did enjoy watchn him play and was thinking to myself how good he would be with more time playing with the squad.

Alot of our future success also will depend on how well Carlo gels the squad together and best makes use of Dino, Kaka etc.

To Avia - R80 is still feeling his way out with this team...seeing what his teams mates like to do and not do, where they like the ball where they make their runs, and they have to do the same for him it takes time.

He ravished defences with Barca cause his team knew where they should and should NOT be so that he could work his magic, that'll take time here in Milan.

The other thing which Shehan in his first post said is that Ronaldinho was running into 2 or 3 players when he heading into the box, and he still managed to get dangerous crosses off.

(look at how many players we're on him when he made the cross to Sheva & a scoop pass to Pippo)

There was ZERO room in the box to run at the defence as they stuffed the box and man marked him. He would have lost possession if he tried to go any further with the ball.

So he started crossing the ball/providing the ball and making opporunities for others. And it worked...others just didn't finish...Sheva & Pippo most noticably.

I do agree that he needs to increase his fitness and speed.

If HE needs to work on his game/fitness, (which he does) what does it say about the rest of our team when a player that is outta shape and coming off his worst ever is our best player on the pitch for our home & season opener?

Gianfranco is right a deadly no nonsense striker is needed BADLY.

Boriello to the rescue???

Dino on the other hand still has alot to prove, it was def great to see him in Red & Black but as JP rightly said:

"Also, Dinho looked terribly slow today, especially off the ball. I hope this is not something that lasts all year, but certainly he was not the Dinho that ravished La Liga every weekend.

He was instrumental on the goal, and alot of his passes were sublime. But Dinho is not here to be a provider, he’s here to latch the ball onto his magical feet and samba around the opposition. I didn’t see a Ronaldinho capable of doing anything like that today."

Got 2 agree with that, Dino still has alot of work to put in before being labelled the saviour of Milan!

Mike & BigDawg4Milan - I have to say I was totally flabbergasted as to how crappy The Dorf played on Sunday.

Considering how well he played during preseason (obviously Dinos signing was playing on his mind) and all the moaning about how Milan didn’t need to sign Dino, he fricking blew it!

I was stunned watching him trudge half heartedly around the pitch, like a little kid who couldn’t keep up with the bigger boys!

A part of this blame should also lay at the feet of Ancelotti who, apart from being unable to impart his vision to the squad (assuming he has one!) cant seem to motivate his players to give it their all.

All they had to do was look at the Bologna players for showing how to play like your life depends on a win!

To Mike - Agreed, too bad Ancelotti doesn't have the balls to keep him on the bench.

There as one play that he just gave up cause he was beaten, threw his hands in the air, and was waiting for a whistle cause he felt he got fouled.

He's has an ego & better not be too much of a suck as there is more than enough quality coverage for his position.

Agreed, I thought Seedorf was an abomination, in particular in the last 15 minutes. How many fouls from behind did he commit because he was just out and out beaten?

Gianfranco - I can't believe you stated Seedorf's name as a player free flowing player in Sunday's game!

He sucked!!!

If R80 had played like Seedorf & Seedorf like R80, you're blog would have been dedicated to blasting R80's hype & ineptness & the grandeur of Seedorf.

Anyways...this game was one of those freak games where you dominate but at the end of 90 mins you lose.

Nesta's return couple with Boriello's debut should make a marked difference against Genoa.

The christmas tree formation, along with starting Pippo was a mistake...I wrote that on several Milan sites prior to the game. We should be playing to our strengths. Pato should have started.

Gila already scored for Fiorntina, meanwhile Sheva missed an opportunity that he would have slotted home blind folded a few years ago.

Finally, R80 is a freaking monster, he was on that left side wreaking havoc for that Bologna defense...we were just unfortunate not to take the chances he provided.

Flamini & Zambrotta were good also.

Do they really? I always wonder if the Italian version of news stories on the site is along the same lines. Nonetheless, I can't help but think that the English translator dude likes to embellish his version...a lot. Case study, indeed. Always makes for quite the entertaining read though.

"But the thunder and lightning come from Bologna, Di Vaio and Valiani, who were like lightning strikes on a clear day."

Honestly, I ask you...;)
