Chievo 0 – Milan 1
By: Gianfranco | April 13th, 2009I did not have the luxury, I heard it was bad so maybe I should say hardship?, of taking in Milan’s game this weekend, and due to an extremely hectic schedule this week, will probably not get my hands on an archived copy either. I spent Saturday morning coaching the indoor team to success in position week, then outdoor season preparation errands, and finally Easter duties so my weekend was a bit lost. I did as always read all the comments which left me wondering how much help and explanation all of you who saw the match could provide.
Remember these questions were based solely off the comments so it will be interesting what others opinion’s will be. I will say though that three points is three points, and when you need them especially after Juventus drops them, and Genoa wins them, it is all the better. A win is a win is a win…and I would rather an ugly win than a beautiful loss, because ugly wins bring titles, or in our case CL football, beautiful losses leave you nowhere…
1. Was Seedorf that bad?
2. Did his goal justify his inclusion?
3. Can we survive without Maldini or Nesta?
4. Was Dida vintage 2003, or were you just happy he was making saves?
5. Could Pato have passed the ball on occasion to lead to goals?
6. Would Dinho have made a difference?
7. Has Flamini surpassed Ambrosini in starting consideration?
8. Was Pippo’s pass to Clarence more luck than skill?
9. MOTM?
10. Did Chievo deserve more?
Again this a new idea, and because I didn’t see the game I think your help and knowledge will go a long way in a post match discussion. Feel free to answer one, two, or all, but hopefully we can get a solid review of the match so we can shift our focus to the assault on second place!

Sorry Gian, there is no way he “lacks” players to groom
What about Cardacio & Viudez?? Not even a sniff really and what was the point in playing Strasser once and then kicking back into obscurity??? wtf?!
Its not that great really when you think that we currently have Pato & Pippo as our attack force and Shev as back up (all due to Bori’s injury)
And with Rino out we have pretty much lost the fight in midfield, does it NEVER occur to Carlo that we might lose a player here and there??
From preseason onwards, he should have kept his options open, unfortunatley he has restricted himself down to his “favourites” method for choosing players and has driven himself down a dead end in terms of genuine selections he can make friom the available pool of players
lol but somehow we are fighting for 2nd?? again wtf!?

Zapata i would take in a heart beat!!!!!
Stick him alongside Silva and we’re laughing!
The last time i saw him play he just seemed to bully all his opponents off the ball, nice!

you should have seen him yesterday avia, positioning was superb, I think he got pressed a bit forward though toward the end as Udinese needed two goals to advance, but great performance up to the last 25 minutes of the match…

we got to sell or release favalli after this season, whenever i see his name on the starting line up it makes me laugh. carlo needs to start experimenting with the squad. play dinho, mattioni and viudez now. were surely in the CL next season so it would be a waste of time if he doesnt start playing some youth. we dont need to finish 2nd as long were in the CL next year.

carlo hardly experiments. its like seeing the same old team play every game. kinda boring.

Zapata can be awesome. If he lives up to his potential,Zapata and Silva would be great for the future.
And Gian,Lahm would be an improvement over Janks,in general. Janks has had a good season, but Lahm has more quality and is younger.Posted from

Best managers are those that experiment, including Benetiz, Sir Alex, Mourinho, Raneiri and Rijkaard. Take Mourinho as a example, we never even knew Santos, but now look the guy’s 18 and playing first team football. Sir Alex made something out of Rafeal. But what has Carlo done with Mattioni. Ranieri bought Giovinco into the scene. Rijkaard managed to make Bojan known.

Inspite of having Favalli and Senderos in our defence,we have a better defensive record than Juventus. We are the 2nd best defense in Italy. Is that good,or is it showing the falling standards of Serie A?

Ranjeet, part of that has to do with Abbiati playing well, but the other part has to do with many of us blowing our defensive woes out of proportion. Favalli has done well for this season, and that stat is a testemant to that…

milan 4 life, im glad you brought up bojan. If barca goes after benzema, or villa or silva without losing henry or eto, i think it would be awesome to make a run at bojan. How much time would the kid get behind all those world class forwards? I seriously doubt we would be successful, but it would make me happy at least.

Got to give him his props, Favalli has def improved over the 2nd half of this season

surely you need an italian defender?! thats milans trademark!

guys Bojan is a product of the Barca youth system, his dad got him into the club, and his dad was a former player, do you think we would sell paolo’s son!? Never, so Bojan is a pipe dream…

speaking of Italian defenders, Paolo’s sons dont they both play in the primavera squads? and if any one knows anything might you be able to share how old the eldest son is. because if he’s good enough I’d love to see him break into the first team by 16-17 Years old to continue in his fathers footsteps. we have to keep this never ending Maldini legacy going.

Samuel, I believe they are 13 and 10.

if those kids have at least 65% percent of Maldini’s class and composure all together they should be awesome!

i really hope Borriello makes us all forget about any striker in the summer. it would be a huge boost for him and the team if he scores a couple of times before the end of the season.
apparently, Becks & Dinho on the bench. Paolo playing.

Is there any news on when he will be back???

read his declaration on acmilan.com, hopefully last couple of matches, if we’re lucky against Juve.

Milan4Life, take Ranieri off that list of managers, he only experimented due to injuries.

take raineri of that list. he is not worthy of mention amongst the “best managers.” And please tell me that you guys dont think RAINERI is better than ANCELOTTI?! What has Raineri won, exactly?
Whats depressing is that you guys put benitez on that list. Don’t get me wrong, I like benitez, and I think he is an excellent manager. And I guess liverpool fans must be a lot more patient than us. But the guys who insult ancelotti have no business supporting Benitez. Here is a team that hasnt won the League in like 19 years or something, and the manager has literally had access to unlimited funds and still couldnt bring a single league victory home in the years he has been there. And yet he has undoubted support from the fans.
I think that some of you guys have developed a youth fetish. To support a guy like Raineri over Ancelotti (which is completely ridiculous if you ask me, coz juve fans have time and again gotten mad that pato gets the time he does here while gio cant seem to hold down that spot in the juve team) is just baffling.

You gotta be kidding, right?
You would rather see us play youth and lose? (coz you think the CL spot is assured? Which I dont think it is, Genoa is hot on our trail)
This goes to my previous statement of some people developing this youth fetish. Rather see young, new players than actually win? Are you sure that you arent supposed to be “asrenal4life”?
