“I saw Galliani smile once, last year at the final game because his piss poor Milan team got into the champions league, but other than that he looks like a corpse.”

Thats because we have been playing like one. Galliani loves this club, I am certain of that. Have you seen some of his celebrations? He looks like a nerve is about to pop out of his forehead. I cant find the youtube video atm, but you should see some of his reactions.

Gian, there are plenty of non-Italians who love milan equally if not more than a lot of the Italians. Berlu was never a AC Milan fan and also looked to this club as an investment to build his public figure. And if anything, this proves that while Roman learned to love his club, Berlu still looks at the club as an investment. That is why he always invests more in a election year. To boost his image in the media and get votes from Milan fans.

While I (very, very, very) strongly stand against investment from Ghaddafi and the Sheikhs of Dubai, I do not believe that foreign investment is bad. Just that bad investors are bad.

1-1 shitty draw. Nothing to freak out about. This team is bloody avg. I have said this before but Ronaldinho is not the biggest worry of this club. It’s the shit around him. Milan have too many avg players and or players lacking quality to score and create: Gattuso, Ambro, Flamini, LB, RB, etc. Yea some of these may be good defensively but you can’t count solely on Pato, Dinho, Pippo for heaven sake to score. At least help them create chances!!!

Pato is not the star everyone thinks he is, he is certainly NOT a superstar.

Dinho at present is not the player he was in Barca. He has to try more, period. And he needs to get help.

Pirlo and Seedorf, the way these guys slow play down is nauseating. Move the fucking ball. Play it up. I’ll give it to Dorf, at least he has had some chances and created a few. He still drives me mental! And Pirlo, guy is in better shape looks like than Ronnie but another guy who slows the play too much and doesn’t pass immediately.

Bottom line is this team does not have enough talent. It’s so evident in midflied and upfront. Thank god Dinho scored, maybe something will wake him up out of this cloud!

Plus, what if the new owner was from Turin and only wanted to destroy Milan so that his beloved Juventus could win year in and out…?

thats doesnt make sense shingai…. why would someone buy a club for 600-800 million and the run it to the ground…. would be cheaper to buy a shirt and burn it.

Whoever is attacking the owners, please live it alone. We should love our owners. That’s my humble opinion. Also, I think we need a new coach, the sooner, the better. Now it won’t be easy finding a good coach before the end of the season among those currently working. And if we have to wait til the end of the season to get a good coach among the best out there, then it’s gonna be a dreadful season. Still, we should seek a temporary boss. I don’t see our team winning the calcio under Leonardo, at least this season. The truth is I want the face of Milan to change. If there was a way to sell most of our players and keep just a handful of them, I’d be more than happy to see it done. The truth is I don’t like Leonardo as a coach. Milan, give me someone else with a rigid, enthusiastic style.

I am not sure if you were referring to me, but in case you were, here is my rebuttal.

I don’t believe I was actually attacking our owner. I am thankful for what Berlu has done for Milan and the trophies he has brought here. The fact that I detest his political life and his personal beliefs and am still thankful to him should actually prove that beyond doubt.

But I am not going to pretend that he did it out of the goodness of his heart or for his love for AC Milan. He did it because it boost his public and political image. Hell he named his own party “Forza Italia” so no one could support the national team without indirectly chanting the name of his political party.

No doubt, bottom line is that he brought a lot of success for Milan and that’s what’s important. The fact that he did it for selfish reasons, and not for the love of the club, may be made irrelevant by the success, but it is still a fact.

Sorry, but it is way to easy to just blame the coach. He knows AC Milan quite well and he knew what reinforcements the team needed even before he became coach. Did he get any? Nope! He did not! Instead he got Huntelaar of which Galliani said last year that Borriello is better than him. Wonder if that is why Jan-Klaas does not score at all anymore.

I can see the point of appreciating what Berlusconi has done in the past but I think he has lost it. In any case he can’t concentrate on Milan anyhow. He tries to run a country. His free time is being spent with woman. Besides that, as I mentioned before, he does not have the cash anymore. According to Forbes he earned about 15 million dollars in 2007. The year before it was abou 130 million. The two biggest assets of his company Fininvest lost about a quarter due to the world wide financial problems. Nobody even knows if Fininvest had any debt before they were ordered to pay 750000000 million euros to CIR. Berlusconi is heading into divorce which will probably a ?000000000 million loss for him. He does not have the cash. Most of his wealth consists of his companies, a villa and three yachts. Milan is not worth 600 million. More like 300. Time is up for him. Spend time to find a good buyer someone who is decent and try to get a good deal. With the current other issues he has in court he may even lose more. Everyone Milan Fan should be grateful that he saved the club in the 80s and made of Milan what they are now but he must not let this situation happen again only for someone else to pick up the club from the bottom.

It wouldn’t be bad to see Carlos Alberto Parreira took the reins of the team, at least temporarily for the rest of the season, starting NOW! I reckon he did a bad job managing Brazil in the final stage of the last WC, but I remember the copa america prior to that, where his team had displayed top-class football in some delightful matches, and before that, the ‘94 WC, where his team was well organized.
Before I thought of him, I was thinking of Carlos Bianchi, but anyway he’s on duty with Boca Juniors now, not has coach though.

Bmam – I know the owners are paying you an we don’t need anoter scandal so get out of here. Leo tried hard to get new blood into the team but Berlu wouldn’t listen. It’s plain for anyone to see that you can’t effectively run a club and a country. And many if not all Italians would agree he is doing neither well

nice post, larry, which i agree with on all fronts, except for the bit about dinho waking up, which doesn’t seem to be in the cards. that said, he is still, pretty much by default, a vital cog to the offensive side of the squad and has to be slotted in somehow.

I acknowledge that the coaching job isn’t easy, especially when one’s just starting out. In that sense we have to understand the weight of the task undertaken by Leonardo, and give him the credit he deserves. However, I may be wrong, but I had the feeling during the interseason that he didn’t quite have a vision of his own, mainly leaning on the shadow of former boss Ancelotti, when it came to the buyings. Sissoko seems like a good move, springing from his insight of the game, but he also went for Zhirkov, Dzeko, like Ancelotti at Chelsea. The main reason I supported him was because I was eager to see what he would bring on the table that is new, revitalising for the team, and that would presumably spring in a great deal from his experience has a player, where Milan was managed differently from the recent years, a Milan side I didn’t dislike although in 1999, when I’ve come to love the club, I didn’t know them all that well, but saw enough to be entertained and charmed.
You might want to give Leo his chance, see how he progresses. But I want change; he’s leading the team; he’s a big part of it. It’s his vision that his broadly displayed on the field. Right now things don’t look pretty. And it’s hard to have patience when one sees the overall composition of their team to be problematic.

When the owners didn’t want to spend too much on the team, I was behind them. Why? Well I had envisioned team where we had a good player in the midfield in the person of Flamini, who’s really engaged and very talented, moreover Gattuso, who has always been exeptional in his overall contribution both defensively and offensively to the team; I saw in Ronaldinho one of the most talented professional players on scene at the moment, and one who could cleary lead the team ( I don’t know if you remembered his first game performance for the which was tremendous, and still was followed the comments of boss Ancelotti revealing the latter wasn’t impressed. I’m sorry but when you have a coah who inconsiderate and keeps pounding on you, it is not only hurtful and it can weigh a lot on your performance; and what a season that was for Dinho. It seemed pretty logical and despicable that he dropped in form having a coach like that. Now when you have these three players in the midfield, you pretty much have a solid line up here, even if you exclude pirlo. And if we had just bought the right striker, that would be the essential boost we needed.
Huntelaar his not bad for a signing ’cause he has technic, and he’s pretty leathal by reputation, although that seems to want to slip away.
If this composition cannot work, I have to say Leonardo has a lot more to improve. And on top of it he cannot see to make Ronaldinho play instead of Seedorf, than not only do I disapprove of his tactic, but I unequivocally view the starting line-up in need of a reshape. Because I don’t like a midfield combination where Pirlo is the main playmaker, and where Seedorf thrives on the left.

the current starting lineup (pirlo-dorf-pato-pippo/hunter) isn’t getting it done so it has to be shaken up. i don’t see why any of the above should be immune to benching.

can someone please tell me, not why, how can a team tell a player liker Gourcuff that he cant have a starting spot in the first team!!! doesnt add up! this is starting to get to me, seriously.

Bmam – Leo tried to get Dzeko and Cissoko, a wing back and a striker which every analyst out there agrees we need. And if you weren’t watching last season those same people you mentioned weren’t performing then, so what would make this season any different? We don’t need an entire overhaul but we do need new blood in certain positions, and Leo saw that and wanted to get it, but our beloved owner doesn’t have his sight on investing to get a competitive squad. It’s the very reason Van Basten said hell no when asked about coaching this side.

We won!!!!!!!! 2-1!!!!!!!!! Incredible Dinho, incredible!!! Not good first half, down 1-0 after three minutes. Second half great, we get a penalty and Dinho scores!!! After that he starts making great things and creating opportunities, one of them the great assist for Pato’s winning goal!!!!!!! We could have scored some more if only Seedorf wasn’t that bad at finishing at passing!!!!!!! But we still won!!!!!
