Siena Preview

By: Gianfranco | September 14th, 2007

Carletto has made it very clear that he will be resting some of the big guns for the weekend match-up in Siena. I am all for a good rotation of players that will keep everyone fresh and ready, but I am bit apprehensive with the projected lineup:

Dida;
Bonera, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski;
Gattuso, Emerson, Brocchi, Seedorf;
Inzaghi, Gilardino

I would prefer to see Cafu, Simic, or even Favalli in place of Bonera. Bonera has not done much to prove his is wing back material, let alone center back material. Heck I would even move Kaladze out there, and Bonera inside. What my big gripe is the lack of creativity in the midfield, Carletto is essentialy playing three ball winners, and one ball hanlder in Seedorf. Why not give Gourcuff a run? I know this lineup is only probable, but if it is the end result I would not expect all that much.

    i really want to see Gourcuff play, nothing good will come if Careltto blocks him out all the time, im not blaming ancelotti of course, the hot headed french!!

    i believe we at least need Kaka on the bench, if worse comes a call for Kaka can save us.

    and regarding Gilardino, gila..gila..gila. i really hope he shines, because if does screw up AGAIN!! Milan fans wont tolerate anymore. some already turned their backs, some still hoping that he finds his best soon, REAL SOON.

    my prediction, 3-1 win. maybe even 2-1 without Kaka.

    i dont agree with your assessment of bonera. tis true that hes no fullback, but he definitely is a worthy centerback, he was flawless last season when playing alongside Maldini (well who isnt with el capitano!), and he put in some really good match winning performances which got him like 4 MoM awards.

    gourcuff needs to play, hes being wasted on our bench, if that is the lineup, that carlo is being wasteful and overconfident.

    GILARDINO, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE SCOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!
