Better get recognized, loved and appreciated by your teammates, coach, club and fans rather some soccer organizations who vote on players based on who will make more money for them or their sponsors. not saying Kaka didnt deserve it lol

Pirlo is surely an amazing player and personality as well. Given his role and contribution in Milan and Azzurri, he keeps low profile attitude inside and outside the pitch. Just wonder if Milan and Azzurri could win Champions League and World Cup without him. The current golden era of Milan and Azzurri seems to start with the rise of Pirlo. The next generation of Zidane indeed !

Pirlo on the other hand. When he plays well, he is the successor to Zidane in the stakes of playing the beautiful game most beautifully.

The problem with Milan is that they don't go for the jugular when they go ahead against these lower teams. It's as if it is impolite to pump Reggina with more goals at their stadium.

This game was the same. When they score, they get even more casual and start to over play, become individualistic and stuff around too much. It is too poetic and beautiful too win scudetti. They need ruthlessness like Inter, lo and behold! lol

As to the tactics, Milan were very overstretched when they played with just two deep midfielders against Napoli so I can see why Ancelotti has been scared to employ this again. However, Reggina were crap in attack and perhaps Gourcuff could have been thrown on earlier when this was became obvious, which was pretty much from the get go.

Emerson had a good game though; Gilardino is scoring but will never have pace and he is too old school Italian, diving before the ball even reaches his foot, "dude that style is way outdated these days...get over it"!; Oddo takes 15 games to get to top form, in the meantime expect lots of erratic crossing. And Pato, the boy thinks he is still playing five a side kick-a-abouts in Porte Alegre, so casual. He needs a season at least to learn the pace and defense in the Serie A but still, he gives the opposition so much covering to do.

I am glad you found that Hana, I still remember his screaming for Pippo, it brings tears to my eyes. I will def give him his cred come summer, or the slow time.

Any thoughts on Pato's good game/bad game pattern? The next one will be a scorcher...

Given the outrageous number of awards Ricky has won this year (something like 16, 17? what? I love him and all, but really...), I think he can spare a few that should have gone to Pirlo. The man's brilliance boggles me at times (in a good way), and all Milan fans know that he's the maestro of our midfield.

As dear Tiziano would say..."E Andiamo!". Holy shiznit, why is The Offside so amazing. Bob totally did a post on him back in the day, albeit a short one.
