Leo’s Pre-Derby To Do List
By: Gianfranco | August 25th, 2009Being that this is Leo’s first “real” derby there a few things he needs to address prior to the match…
1. Name Nesta Captain of the squad immediately, first because he is the most experienced presence on the squad, second because he is a CB and defenders always see the game better than anyone else.

2. Pick a lineup and don’t tell a soul! Have the players, management, Inter, and Jose sweat it out until the last second.

3. Do not let this photo happen again for a meaningful match, being a coach is tough enough, don’t let your bosses muck it up!

4. Begin to employ a 4-3-3, if that is your preferred system don’t be shy to use it. Float Dinho wide left and high, play Borriello, Pato, and KJH to rest Dinho on occasion, the sooner you try this the more dynamic and mysterious you become to the Serie A and CL opponents.
5. Last but not least, get a freaking haircut!

@ Kevo – I don’t think its rigged…but it’s hard to not to think so after you see Man-U, Arsenal and other EPL teams getting put into a pretty easy group year after year.
Know wonder 3 of them make the quarters every year.

oh quit this rigged nonsense. Anyone who insulted/disagreed with/or just got all round annoyed with the fans of the english teams claiming fixed draws when Chelsea faced Liverpool or when Chelsea and Barca had a pretty shitty ref have no right to now claim that it is rigged because we got the harder draws.
Its always fixed when the draw is hard on your team.

It’s not bad, we drew the toughest opponent from pot 2 but we also got reasonable teams from the other two pots so we can count on one of the top two spots as long there are no huge fuck-ups. personally, I’m glad it turned out this way – we get5 to spar with one of the strongest teams in europe but we also get huge chances of passing to the next round.

tough group. But at least its not as bad as juve’s

Trini, I am not saying its not rather eerie. It does sound a little to coincidental. But anyone who laughed of these suggestions when english fans did it last year after Chelsea drew Liverpool (again) and the Chelsea Barca ref incident have no right to claim it now.
I just ask for a little consistency. There were plenty of people who were annoyed by the behavior of english fans after the semi-finals and now 5 months later they are behaving the exact same way.

All I am saying is that the only people who should realistically claim that this draw is fixed are the people who did entertain the suggestion that Platini made sure that it was not an all English final last year.

unless one of you is going to enlighten us as to HOW exactly they rigged this live televised draw, stop being childish loudmouths.

i don’t know shit about marseille and zurich..i think we won a friendly against zurich not too long ago..anyway, i think we would clear the group stage atleast..

besides I dont know how inter and juve fans can complain. They are in the second pot. They were always gonna face a tough team. In fact, I would venture and say that Juve were lucky enough to play the easiest team from Pot A. The only other team that is arguably easier is Sevilla so they got one of the easiest 2 teams from Pot A. Inter were always gonna play a tough team since they were in Pot B. Unfortunately they got the toughest team from Pot A, but such is life.

And we accept the challenge at hand!!! We must go all out, full frontal assault when barcelona play us at the san siro!!!! Lets shock the world and show everyone in italy that we CAN DO IT!!!!!!

besides the manu thing, i was just saying the drama was all too convenient. and id say the same of past chelsea-liverpool shit. not complaining about the toughness of the draw..we should make it out of the group. i guess i’m not surprised, in the end they want asses in the seats and eyes on the screen, and they will be.
Jovan who’s the one being childish? you’re the one namecalling. namecaller. lolz
but srsly milan tifosi, let’s get over this silly CL draw focus on getting 3 points against merda in 2 days!!!

ugh, I missed the draw, I really just wanted to see the Paolo tribute.
While I don’t believe it’s rigged, it’s definitely going to be a dramatic year for the CL. Ricky and Ibra both returning to Italy, they better be on two different days so I can watch both. It’s nice knowing that two Italian teams facing two Spanish teams are easily the most interesting match-ups, says a lot about the two leagues.

I think Liverpool got a pretty tough draw as well…
On a side note, in south america it used to be very fixed. One of the many ways they would do it was to put the balls of the teams they didn’t want to play against in the freezer just before the draw. That way they just had to be careful and not chose the cold ball

Hey Gian…I have a message from a friend for you…she said: “Tell your offside blog dude to never EVER suggest Leo getting a haircut”

Lol really? I guess so…I never knew a haircut could instill such fear in someone.

Ro, lets hope Leo’s hair instills fear in every team we play! haha!
i can’t help but be excited about the draw! after all, Football is about entertainment non? if they did rig it, it’s a perfect PR stunt, imagine how many people will tune in to see Kaka Vs Milan, Eto/Inter vs Ibra/Barca!
who cares people it’s happened we gotta deal with it now and hope that we do well, i got a feeling we will!
Let’s hope my optimism is well founded haha!Posted from

In my opinion De Silvestri would be a bad signing, because a player thats not good enough for Lazio is not Milan-material. Also his attitude stinks. Leo should try to sign Lichtsteiner instead, the man runs like a fucking maniac. Then Zambrotta and Janks could fight each other for the LB-spot.
