It’s Good to Be Back

By: Gianfranco | November 28th, 2007

Back to business as usual, the move into my condo was a success and my internet and thankfully TV is back up and running. Now if I only quit work and devote my life to Milan I would be in business, alas that can not happen so its time for the happenings since my last post.

-We have to acknowledge Fetyani for being the man and posting some awesome pics of him and the Champions Cup as well as Rino Gattuso and Daniel Massaro. Check them out on the last post. If anyone else has cool pics of them and the boys in red and black feel free to send them to me or post them right in the comments so we can all enjoy them.

-Last Sunday Milan fought back hard to drag out a win against Cagliari. It may actually be safe to say that the squad is turning a bit of corner because just a few weeks a one-nil deficit almost was a certain loss. They fought back and we were really able to stay in the game and more importantly sustain pressure. Big Ron made his triumphant return and all I can say is ouch, he looked absolutely exhausted good for Carletto to stick with him.

-The Rossoneri have also booked themselves a ticket for knockout football in the Champions League. A draw with Benfica has assured them at least second place as they line up to play Celtic, who as many fans remember basically pushed the Rossoneri around and handed them a rather bleak loss that but Milan on the fast track to nowhere in the Serie A. A little revenge would be nice and first place even nicer. They even earned the praise of former Milanista Manuel Rui Costa who provided some great years of service to the club.

-Saturday Milan invites the Old Lady Juventus back into their home after a one year hiatus. Frankly I hate Juventus almost as much as I hate Inter, those cheating bastards have cost the Rossoneri more than a few scudetti and I have very little remorse for their year spent in Seria B. Regardless of my feelings, Milan really needs a victory here for both their standing in the table and for their pride and rivalry’s sake. At 14 points Milan needs nothing short of a miracle or ten straight victories to even have a prayer. Hey anything can happen…

Milan’s play today was uninspiring, except for Kaka who made some nice runs and almost broke through to score.

and I’ve got no idea how we’ll play against Celtic to be honest, but it doesn’t matter since we’re through.

    oh, and one last thing…

    COL JUVE IN B!
    bastards…
And a nice little video of the 2003 CL final ; ]

First, I liked Milan’s game against Cagliari. They passed the ball well and when they were 0-1 down, they were patiently dictating the flow of the game. When Milan plays like that, it’s very difficult to break them down. The only problem with that kind of play if one passes go wrong or goes to the opponent, then they’d really have to pull back. Dida had some scary moments.

Second, Milan-Benfica game: it was nice to see Rui Costa on the pitch although in a different shirt. He dribbled past his ex-teammates several times today and had good shots at goal. Milan did well to maintain the draw but seriously, their game wasn’t that convincing. And Gilardino irritated me the whole time with his constant tripping, falling and diving at the slightest touch. We really need a good striker soon!

    OFFICIAL: Ronaldo Is Cursed.

he’s highly doubted for the Milan-Juve game and probable for the World Club Cup. Thus the only rational and reasonable explanation would be he is Cursed. Thats what you get when you get a transfer guru who is transferring the club into a retirement home!!

Ronaldo does not suck. Thats really, really terrible though. Poor guy -_- If he ever gets back in form, and gains some stamina, I’m sure he’ll be scoring more than Gila.

yeh, i still have faith in big-old ron. He has been in really bad form and is still trying to find his feet again.

But i can guarantee that he will recover and well see him back like never before!
Also Gila is growing like a mad-dog he just keeps on improving and i can only imagine what he will become in the not to soon future.

    WOOO FORZA MILAN!

Gila isn’t really growing, he’s just going back to the way he used to be at Parma. He was a monster there, and it’s slowing coming back to him!

Headline from the Corriere dello Sport:

“Milan, goodbye Ronaldo, hello Amauri - The Rossoneri are ready to give up on El Fenomeno and already have their hands on the Palermo hitman”

MC you are the most optimistic person on this website… i never really had faith in ronaldo.. in fact, i thought he was worth the money we paid for him, for the goals he scored in spring to get us to the 4th place… he has outlived his usefulness, or atleast is sure does seem that way anyway..

Tomorrow’s game score will be decided by our strikers. if Gila plays like the Gila we know we’ll get screwed unless Kaka pulls out the magic juice. hopefully Pippo will play in the 2nd half.

Seedorf, Pirlo and Kaka will control the game, mark my words. and again, those 3 will control the mid-field and it will be up to Gila/Pippo to capitalize.

oh yah forgot to mention, stupid old fatty bald Brazilian!!!

Ronaldo is far from being a “stupid old fatty bald Brazilian”. he’s brilliant when he’s not injured…but he seriously is ridiculously unlucky. We wait for months for him to get better, and when he finally does..he gets injured again. hell, who isn’t in favor of getting a new competent striker, but i don’t understand all this blame being put on ronnie. i kind of doubt he intentionally injured himself. clearly, they need to build him whatever “special boot” roma made for totti…

Ranjeet, I am huge Bianchi fan, he reminds alot of Gila, he can move with the ball or without and he has a TON of upside, Amauri is good too, but older and a bit more like a Luca Toni who requires a bit more service to get the job done.
