Chiellini is still playing for the U21 team but he has earned a respectable amount of caps (six) for a young player. I think he might be one of Italy’s next superstars because he is a good defender who can add to the attack and score beautiful goals just like he did against the U21 Spain. I also think Aquilani or Montolivo will be key players in the future.
Italy should just have a friendly with a random country anyway just to try out and debut thier young stars. A mix of key veterans like Zambrotta, Buffon, etc. can make these youngsters even better when they train and play together.

Nothin’ on the debut of Ronaldo or the Milan victory? Come on Matthew, give your team a little love! (:
And I agree about Montolivo — barring a horrible injury (fingers crossed) or a move away from Italy, he’s got a great future with the Azzurri.

22 year old Rosina from Torino is a beast. He’s like a young Zidane (maybe). The future of the azzurri attack looks good, but im kind’a skeptical about the defense.
Chiellini is nasty, we all know that, but who else is as good as our current defense?

As a reply to Marcello’s comment Italy’s defense is great now but how will it fair in the future? Well Chiellini is a start and the yougster Andreolli from Inter looks promising. Maybe Andrea Coda of Udinese and Lino Marzoratti of Empoli to complete the 4 man line. These are all U21 Italian internationals who look very promising and show that Italy’s defense is in good hands.
