You know guys, Posh made Becks into a brand he is today. From the pitch to the runway, she had a huge hand in his global image as one of the most recognized footballers in the world. When he came over to the Galaxy even my wife and her friends were talking about it. And she couldn't tell a football from a baseball. if he dissed the Galaxy is because of the crap team they put on the pitch. Besides Landycakes, there is nobody else, Gian is right on that one. I think the owners took full advantage of the situation and made as much money as they could and in return they put shit players on the pitch. He makes about 6mil a year in L.A. but sells probably 10mil dollars in shirts alone. I think he got a bad rap.
In Milan, he's been a revelation, nobody thought he'd fit in as well as he did. Including Fester, since Adriano was most likely glaring at the marketing potential rather than Beck's footballing skills. His determination, hard work and passion has been refreshing. He's got great positioning instincts, great crossing skills and excellent defensive skills. I think he's been a bonus for us and not a drag. And all this from someone who thought Becks would be a bust in Milan.

Fadayn, I think Beckham was pretty aggressive for Milan last year in defensive duties, I've seen him make tackles for England as well.

Hey GF, bit of a weird post. It comes across as damning him with faint praise.

You call him a one-trick pony I agree, although his crossing is now a distant memory.

You say he was a flop in the MLS, I agree.

You say he doesn't respect the Galaxy or the MLS, I agree.

the only thing I'd disagree with is your statement that he "digs out tackles, get dirty, and work" - which i think even the blindest Engerlaaand fan will concede is something Beckham could never be accused of. Honestly find me a video clip of Beckham ever making a tackle??

I think your post agrees mostly with George Best when he said, "He (Beckham) cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right."

puzzled as to how clubs like Inter and Juventus and even West Ham for Fucks sake are chasing players like Candreva of Livorno and we are still wallowing away with the likes of Ederson!? Diamanti went to West Ham for pennies...these are players that should at least be on the Milan radar if you want to do things young and on the cheap...

Absolutely, Milan's transfer politics haven't made sense ever since we sold Sheva, apart from the two shiny moments of buying kaka and pato which were, oh the irony, mostly leonardo's doing.

Anti-capitalists? I thought the 60s were over?

Jovan, Antonio, chill. I don't mind seeing Milan wallow around in mediocrity, but Gallani makes less sense than Secco. All things considered, who's transfers would you take over the last 3-4 years? Even Secco's disaster years were not worse than Gallani's.
