Milan fans are not children

By: Gianfranco | July 19th, 2007

The only person more bipolar and flip flopping than Uncle Fester, Galliani, has to be the fickle owner Silvio Berlusconi. Can you believe that just after a few days of promising the joys of a new world class striker Galliani has rescinded this and stated that the attack is fine and that no bids were made? Does this make anyone else completely confused?

Look Fester, Milan fans are not children you can not promise us one thing on Monday and then change your mind on Thursday. The team is not fine; strikers could use a big name, but what about defense!!!!! We cannot continue to compete at the highest level with out making additions to the team to remain young, deep on the bench, and highly competitive. The bottom line is that this is unacceptable. A team that has a just won the Champions Cup needs to make a splash to stay on top of their game. I am going to watch MLS, screw you Galliani and I am still fuming about Cowherd, feel free to post your thoughts on Cowherd and the lack of excitement from the Milan brass.

ok, this kind of does make me a little mad… but i think he probably just meant that we wont get one of the big names aka, dinho, eto’o, drogba, or sheva…. well no shit! we never even stood a chance… i think we will still move for either pato or rossi, because we obviously need a fourth striker for our forward line with pippo and ronnie being seriously injury prone… so, definately we will sign a striker.. and i would much rather not have a big name anyway, pato or rossi would be the perfect signing..

and on the defence, one versatile young defender who can play anywhere in the defence would be great but is not a necessaty.. in the center we have nesta, maldini, kaladze and bonera, and i think thats pretty decent.. i know maldini wont play much, but i was impressed(probably only one of the few who are) with bonera’s showing when he was placed in the center.. when played on the wings, he just couldnt do much… oddo on the right is great and cafu can provide cover.. n on the left janks, isnt the best but he is decent, and serginho and favalli for cover will do just fine..
i dont know if im just being overly optimistic, but we did play amazing in serie a and cl in the second half of the season, i dont know if we should be to worried.. but thats me

gianfranco, if optimism was a human, you’d have his nuts in a death squeeze.

we definitely need a 3rd/4th striker now that no-goliveira is gone, that should be priority.

    im still dreaming of g.rossi…

haha, well i was optimistic last season and look what happened.. my 6 star jersey is now obsolete… im usually cynical of galliani and berlusconi but eternally optimistic for milan.. cant help it… either way there is no way in hell we start the season with 3 strikers.. a fourth has to arrive

yeah well those morons only won the scudetto after a few hundred years, or so to say… and they all know that if they dont win it next year, the two scudettos they already have will be considered worthless for the rest of eternity, because one of them was received by fax and the other will forever have an asterix next to it… inter spend like spoilt teenage girls every year and nothin comes of it… if we get one striker like pato or rossi, i will be more than satisfied.. i think our defence could do without reinforcements for one year.. but next year we will have to buy a class defender and i hope that bonera does whats expected of him this year…

j, you were right in not expecting a big name signing… gettin one of the four players i mentioned earlier obviously was impossible… inter catchin up to us is a thought i refuse to think coz (vomit)… i cant continue on that chain of thought (vomit again)… i agree we need some youth.. wholeheartedly.. its absolutely needed.. but for next year in defence we have digao and bonera as the young ones.. and if digao is half the player his brother is (kaka) then boy we all will be eatin our words later.. maldini and serghinho and probably cafu are sure to retire next year.. so then we will be in major need of some defenders, but currently we have 10 defenders on our roster, if we include digao and janks… and thats more than most teams, we can field 2 completely seperate, yet competent defences every game, and they can play alternatively… and i think thats what ancelotti is thinkin of doin next season..

i also agree that galliani is a piss off for saying that we can also break promises some times.. sure we dont expect eto’o but for christ’s sake pippo and ronnie are more often on the doctors table than not.. a fourth striker is a must.. i do hope we get a fourth striker, because i think we may be able to squeeze one more good year out or our defence.. if costacurta could play till 41 and maldini still playin 39, there is no reason to not expect 31 year olds to not perform..

just thought of nesta playing for 8 more years is making strikers commit suicide all over europe

J, Milan has a strange way of letting players stay on roster even at an advanced age. i think it is becuase they let Maldini stay, and deservedly so, but they feel bad to tell Cafu and Serginho to hit the road…
