Grazie Ricky
By: Gianfranco | June 9th, 2009In one month the Rossoneri we once knew have changed dramatically, we will have a new captain, a new coach, and someday a new hero…
Until that day comes we can say thank you to Ricky. I can’t help but somehow feel that in the end I knew this was going to happen. Once the Man City rumors came and went Kaka and Milan’s relationship was strained. In the end he is going to a better club, for less money in our coffers, but in some respects we did the right thing by a player who rarely did any wrong for us. In the past year it seemed Milan had done everything it could to push Kaka away, bringing in Dinho, a signing he publicly criticized, left him on the Man City door step and changed the coach that made him a star, in the end I almost have to ask, “Can I blame him?”
No I can’t, I can’t root for another club, but you can play for another team, but it doesn’t take away what you brought to this club good and bad. I wasn’t your biggest fan or even your biggest critic, but seeing you succeed on the pitch for my club was a joy to watch. I advocated your sale, fought against, and finally accept it. So while I come to grips with a new Rossoneri team, it sadly moves forward without you.
A friend gave me an idea to share your thoughts on Ricky, feel free to add more…
DAMN. He’s finally gone. I think I will take a break from Milan. I cant keep supporting the club with its current management, and setup. Its gone too far.
Thanks a lot,Kaka, for everything. I will miss you. Best of luck.I still cant believe he’s gone, or Maldini, Gourcuff and Ancelotti for that matter.. all of them vanished within a months time. Grazie Silvio and Galliani, I’m waiting to see what they do in the Transfer market with the cash.. I am so MAD & shocked Right now.
I will never forget my favorite Kaka goal for AC Milan, his second one against Machester United at Old Trafford. 4 Manchester United player, 4 touches before the ball ends up in the back of the net. Phenom. Already a legend for Milan, wish you the best in your travels at Madrid. (Just as long as they don’t play us.)
Grazie Kaka. Its too bad you will never get your 100th goal in a Rossoneri jersey.
He gave us some of our best moments in the past 5 years and for that i will always be thankful
He is one of the most honest, legitimate “good guys” in football, and he served Milan faithfully. It is obvious that Berlusconi (may he rot in hell) forced kaka out for the money. I bet he only puts half of it back into the squad.
That’s it ragazzi, he’s gone and now we all have to move on too. Grazie Ricky, especially for ‘07 when everytime you touched the ball we all new something special was to happen. God gave you a talent and now it’s time for you to use it elsewhwere and delight a whole new set of fans, just don’t use it against us yeah? Show them spaniards what Milan has produced, Ciao bello

Pato will not be leaving. its a waste of time to even discuss it. and if he leaves, that means he doesnt want milan anymore, and we dont want anyone who doesnt want us in the first place. but pato will not go. in galliani’s words, we’re not a super market, you can’t come and pick our player.

hmm…Kaka,why?!..thank you very much..fabregas will cover Kaka’s position very well.,.,now when milan sold Kaka, buy some younger players who will die for AC Milan…there is many fantastic player on the world, and some will be better that is kaka,…, i hope that milan now will renew the team… sell older players…(favalli, kalac, seedorf, jankulovski)., and bring young and quality players.,.
kaka, good luck and thank you for everything!!

It would be nice but fabregas will not leave Arsenal to come to Milan as long as Wenger is there. Def get rid of the oldies and dead wood.

cmon we said it before the fiorentina game. Carlo,Kaka, Pirlo and Pato would be gone in two weeks (I did say I thought dinho would be gone too but I think not now as he’s the only one berlusconi has mentioned will be staying).
Avia you mention that selling kaka, pato and gourcuff provides a good ‘warchest’ – yes it does, with 100million milan could pay off berlusconi’s debts…or buy kaka, pato and gourcuff!

Milan and Seria A should go back to ibasics. We don’t need Ramos, Fabregas Adebayor or Villa. Take the lead and bring more italian players in – Paloschi could be a great partner for Pato. Where is the next Maldini, Baggio or Del Piero? Santon is a great prospect – if only he was at Milan. Economic times are tough – it’s the perfect time to stop paying ridiculous amounts of money to players with over-sized egos (although Milan have luckily picked some of the more noble players including Sheva, Kaka and Beckham). Seria A needs to take the lead in world football and have more faith in young home grown talent.
We can critisise Berlu all day long but at least he is managing to balance the books of a great team without selling out to some rich Russian, Arab or American.

The Kaka money will not be used to find a replacement, Berlusconi already stated that Ronaldinho will take that position. And the money is supposedly going to help Milan’s “financial crisis”.
However if you do spend a huge amount of the Kaka money, then you will get a better idea of who really wanted the transfer to go through.

Fadayn, 45 million pounds in 2001 was about 75 million euros. the 60 million pounds for Kaka’ now is about 70 million euros.
From 1999 til 2008 the Euro went from 0.71 pounds to 0.8 pounds.

Isn’t 30 million pounds horrendously expensive for The Dzeke?
If this happens, they should get The Santacroach next and we may then walk out as winners after Kaka’.

Oh Fadayn, here’s an excerpt from ESPN…
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=653569&sec=transfers&cc=5901
“The 27-year-old Brazilian is believed to have signed for around £59m ($94.05m), which beats the world record transfer fee of £46.7m ($75.3m) paid by Real to Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001. Although, due to fluctuations in currency exchanges, Zidane still cost more in Euros, at €73m, than Kaka, at €68m.”
Apparently, the Euro and US$ were on par(?) in 2001.. (the compensation fee for Zidane was about 75 mil Euros) It’s a record breaker in US dollars and pounds, not Euros though.

Im still upset with Kaka. I agree with Zvonimir Bobans comments that:
“I am disappointed with the fact that Kaka spoke about an eternal love and then in the end it was all false because he wanted to go,” Boban roared to Sky Sport Italia. “Milan wanted to sell. That’s the reality and people must not hide from it.
“That’s the truth. Kaka saying that he wanted to stay on is just false. He is not false, but his comments were.”
But life moves on I guess. I hope we try to produce more of our own talent. I’m sick of foriegners like Sheva and Kaka because at the end of the day they have no more loyalty to Milan than anyone else. They didnt grow up in Italy, They didnt grow up as Milan fans. I want more Baresi’s and Maldini’s. Guys who have an affection for the club and country that runs deeper than the dollar.
Im still confident that if Leo can make his plans work Milan will do well over the next few years. but we’ll wait and see. Hopefully we can get through preseason without injuries or any other complications and we can get off to a good start.

Well you can see that in players like Gerrard,Totti,Del Piero,Raul and Maldini. All these players came through the club youth academies, and their loyalty to their clubs is great. It is almost impossible to get these players. If we get more players from our academy, they will stay with us.

Yeh Ranjeet and I dont think they necessarily even need to be the quality of those guys. Look at Guti at Madrid. Probably had the skill to go to another club and be a star player but stayed at Madrid despite a lack of game time under many coaches because he is a club junior and has real affection for the club. If we had 4-6 of our starting 11 as these sort of club juniors we could rely on them being here for a long time. As it is, Shefva and Kaka left in their prime, Pato could leave before he gets to his prime and Pirlo has been hinting at leaving every summer for 3 or 4 years now.

Edin Dzeko will almost certainly be purchased. His favourite club is Milan, and Milan want him. I am really optimistic about the future, tbh. I have alot of faith in Leonardo, he wants Milan to play beautiful football, and he will use young players like Mattioni, maybe viudez and cardacio. Dinho – Dzeko – Pato could be a imense trio, with dinho playing trough balls, Pato running, and Dzeko holding the ball up.

Paolo speaks out…
Legendary Milan defender Paolo Maldini believes winning the Champions League is ‘a utopia’ now Kaka has left for Real Madrid.
The 40-year-old retired from football last week, having made 902 appearances for the Rossoneri over a quarter of a century.
“For Milan, it’s the end of an era,” Maldini said. “To think about winning the Champions League without Kaka is utopian.
“Kaka is one of the top five players in the world. He is the first of this level to have been sold. The other four haven’t moved.
“When Franco Baresi retired, I felt lost. I only saw black. But then Milan knew how to start all over again.
“This club has always gone forward. I understand the moment, but if the club manages itself as it has done up until now the story will continue,” he explained.
Maldini then went on to talk about the Ultras, who whistled him during his last game at San Siro against Roma.
“I expected something different. I believe that Adriano Galliani took it personally. He has his directors and his people.
“The words of Berlusconi have put me at ease, with a peaceful heart he said the things I wanted to hear.”
Looking to the future, Maldini believes Milan will come to rely on their remaining Brazilian stars, namely Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.
“Ronaldinho could become a leader, but it’s up to him. He has to take more responsibility,” Maldini said.
“I don’t believe Pato will leave. The hope is that we will be able to see him at Milan for many years to come. He has yet to fully understand his talent. He is only 19.”
On being asked to describe what he will do now he is retired, Maldini replied: “Manage family life. I have had various proposals. Nothing from Milan yet, but there is still time to speak about something.
“They have other priorities at the moment. Let’s say that if there is a chance to work in a role of responsibility it will be difficult to say no.
“One thing is certain. I don’t just want to be a face. I now await a meeting with the team to see what it is like to be on the other side,” he concluded.

Oh, for goodness sake, if the players want to leave, just leave. I don’t care anymore. The red-and-black was probably never yours. For me, the only ones left that bleed the two colors are Ambrosini and Gattuso. For the rest… *sigh*
