Ursus, I think Torino got their breath back.

…and oh, Ursus, Milan generally play well against opponents who, like them, think big of themselves. It’s against these little shits that they usually come up short.

def ursus..like i said, only no response on cracks so that we can keep talking about football, tactics and strategies..
i bleed red and black and can still agree that the second half was quite a disaster…torino was dictating play for long spells and even when we did get a chance at goal, they were right back on the counter…

our defence gor exposed for all its weakness and proved that we’ve been lucky not to have conceded much more so far

Sam I really appreciate your comment and proposal, I wish there was more we can do but as Pat said earlier there is nothing wrong with a little passion or banter but this has always been a place free of personal attacks and very solid discussion with folks like Ursus, Pat, and even our Interista friends. Keep the discussion flowing, but the save the personal attacks for the blogs that seem to that think that it is OK to do those types of things…

Yet another needless draw which is totally Ancelotti`s fault. I am affraid that regarding the team morality compared to Inters this might be the turning point of the season. They are even stronger and we are weaker thanks to Carletto.
The beloved XMAS tree formation which for the first time this season did not bring presents from the referee but left the players confused and unbalanced again, especially in defense. Having Pirlo (not fit yet), Dinho, Kaka and Pato on the field resulted in total chaos when Torino had a counter and there was enormous pressure on the defenders. The defenders did their job. Bonera played well defensively, whereas in attack he was s**t and Milan looked like a bird without a right wing. That influenced Kaka performance as-well. Dinho and Janks combined well. So, attack was too predictable along with damned XMAS tree. Torino players throughout the whole game felt that they are in it and they were! Goals were brilliant, Pirlo for Pato and individual inspiration by Dinho.
And NO, Dinho and Kaka can not coexist. One fantasista per team is more than enough. How many fantasistas Inter have?

I don’t think Milan quite have the legs and speed in defense to play such an exuberant style. That said, if Pato had scored instead of ballooning the ball over from 5 yards and Dinho had got the penalty for hands that looked pretty obvious things would have been different. Torino survived and then cleverly showed up Milan’s aging legs and slowness in defense.

we missed having flamini/ambro in mid-field and missed having 2 strikers up front…
i agree that inter seems to be getting stronger and stronger with each match - dont know how many of you watched the game on sat but they outplayed juve completely imo and the scoreline doesnt reflect the number of times manninger was given a work out…

I actually thought Juve were on top and dictating play in the second half. That softest of soft goals, a miscued shot landing to unmarked player who miscues it himself but it bobbles into the side-netting, came against the run of play.

Inter shaded it in the first half but even then Juve were pretty good value for parity. I think their approach play was good throughout the game but their final ball remained rubbish.

Believe it or not, I’m glad Kaka is banned for next match b/c it gives me hope in seeing 2 strikers play in front of Dinho, hopefully Pato and Sheva. Sheva had 1 nice shot on goal last night, and I think he has something to prove, so he should be given a run. I’m pretty confident that with 2 strikers, Milan will get a good result, b/c the main problem with scoring is that they attack, get to the final 1/3rd of the pitch and then they keep passing the ball around the box, b/c there’s simply not enough bodies in the box. This is the 29382 time I’ve said this, but I think it’s vital for Milan’s resurgence.

Pato was good, but he simply cannot do it all alone up in front, against these weak teams.

And btw, Rosina was brilliant yesterday.

Kaka and Dinho CAN coexist. Yes Dinho’s presence is somewhat affecting Kaka’s performance, as it takes some creative responsibility off of Kaka’s shoulder, but I have no doubt that Kaka will soon return to his form, and we’ll see more of his trademark runs. Yesterday he was clearly frustrated, and his actions showed it.

Many good points made about this game. I found it disturbing that the little regarded offensive front of Torino outplayed that of Milan during most of the 2nd half and looked much quicker.

“Referees make mistakes, just like players, coaches and directors,” Adriano Galliani is reported to have said before the start of celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the Assocalciatori.
“We cannot hand alibis to our lads and I do not want to comment on those episodes. However, I believe we could have closed out the match earlier, because we had at least three gilt-edged chances to round out the result, besides the potential penalty.”
Kaladze lashed out at Farina after the Olimpico clash, branding him an ‘incompetent’, and the 64-year-old declared that he will have a chat with the players.
“I will reprimand them, but I understand that sitting in the stands is different to being on the field of play. Nonetheless, his statements were simply a venial sin,” concluded Galliani.

    —-

Good stuff by Galliani. The referee-bashing has to stop. Milan has to step up their game and they shouldn’t be put in situations where one wrong decision go change the game like that. Simple.

Just on referees, that Rizzoli (I think that’s his name) that did the Derby d’Italia (*washes his mouth out*) is surely the best referee in Italy.

once again kaka and dinho can co-exist they did it in the qualifiers for brazil in 2001 and are doing it now again, pato’s goal yesterday was brilliant and for some reason reminds me of inzaghi’s stike vs siena last month where gattusso again had that same style of assist he must be taking lessons from pirlo in the training ground. little ducks finish has certainly improved but he should of scored that sitter to put the game away at 3-1. and is it just me or does he always seem to perform well or score when given a start!. maldini seemed lost and out of place back there towards the end we was staring to tire. Ronaldinho is certainly improving on the ball of late and should of been awarded a p.k and kaka should be benched for the next game he’s been autracious of late wth does he think he is 2 dives in a week thats c.ron material don’t make it a habit ricky!! and seedorf should start with pirlo and flamini our lack of a good defensive midfield out there last night caused us fail and give away an UNINTENTIONAL handball and get the game robed away from us!! FARINA IS AN INTERISMO WHICH I’D DESCRIBE AS AN INTER POLICE………..nothing more should be said. we should bounce back from this with a convincing win vs Palermo.

It’s widely thought that Collina agrees with you, A.

Rizzoli was actually a promising youth player until he badly injured his knee, and has always been known for talking to players rather than just whistling and showing cards. He was let known by his linesmen on Saturday night, and I thought he went a bit too far in his “I’m not going for any dives” campaign), but his fitness and positioning are excellent.

Collina demoted him to Serie B late last season after he failed to send Totti off for a “Va Fa” to his face, but he didn’t utter a word of complaint and has come back from that with no ill effects whatsoever.

Holy moly Ursus, that does look cold!

Which incident are you referring to with regards to the linesman? I think Collina himself was let down by his linesmen this week.

A, primarily the series of offsides calls that weren’t, but also a couple of should have been corners that were given as free kicks.

thanks patcook, you’re a real Milanista. (you are a Milan fan, right?)

But.. damn. why do these guys have to play like this? I was skeptic in the summer over the new players. I only saw two serie A games all season. I dont know whats goin on except for the results. only caught the derby with Milan-Inter. it’s a mess here. you’re in Canada too, where do you watch the games? can you watch em online?
