“We are having problems down the left flank. We have tried to improve the squad with full-backs and haven’t been able to get them yet, so we must work overall to make the movement better.”

i don’t think we need to go searching for fullbacks.
we need a LEFT back.

WE GOT OWNED!!!
R80 Played like garbage, he missed a perfect to go up 1 zip.
The truth is we’re not as good a Inter. (period)
They sliced through us like a hot knife through butter.
Even at 11 vs 11 they are better than us. Eto, Motta Sneijder, with Maicon cutting in from the flank was waaaaaaaay too much for us.
Zabrotta made one good cross early in the game and played mediocre overall.
Janks just sucks on defence and on offense…he’s garbage. He has position but doesn’t have the quality on “D” or “O” to be effective.
Did you guyz see how they just took turns rifling shots in at Storari??? OMG
He’s the man of the match cause it could have been 7-0 had it not been for some really good saves.
I don’t know what to say people…we had our entire first squad at our disposal and still got bent over and stuffed. (with no lub)
It’s gonna take a while for this one to heal.
Our midfield sucked. (Particularly Gattuso & R80)

Again, inter lost this fixture last season and went on to win the league. This year, talent-wise they are clearly way better than any team in the Serie A except for maybe Juve – most teams that Milan will face this year will not be this good.
This was a learning experience. Leo has learned that Milan’s current defensive setup simply cannot handle a top-class, fast moving, slick passing offense. If he has any kind of footballing brain, he’ll see what kinds of adjustments need to be made (and can be made, given the players available).Up front, he learned that Boriello will never be anything more than a mediocre Italian striker. He has no speed, he has no quickness, he lacks the desire for the ball that all good strikers have. He didn’t harass Inter’s defenders, he didn’t really track back into the midfield for the ball, he didn’t make any penetrating runs for Pirlo or Dinho to thread a diagonal pass. He was basically just a body on the field/in the box. And that’s all he promises to be.
Leo learned that KJH and Pato, if they stay healthy, will salvage respectability this year for Milan (which could mean many things – possibly the Schudetto or Coppa Italia, a Champions League qualifying spot, or a strong run in the CL). Those two are able to create their own chances, and had/created Milan’s only serious opportunities on goal.
Flamini has shown signs of definite improvement. Right now, he is Milan’s best “support” midfielder – capable of playing defense in the middle of the park as well as creating chances (see how he snuck by Maicon early in the game by the goaline in the box?).
Dinho…has lost it, sad to say. As I said earlier, when he was at his unplayable best, there was nothing but joy in his eyes. The man never stopped smiling – he looked genuinely happy whenever he played for Brazil or Barca. At Milan, he looks…cynical? There is an element of frustration in his game now – diving, picking fights, yelling at the ref. I remember a camera closeup after some flare up during the first half, Gattuso and Dinho both snarling and looking thuggish.
There’s something disconcerting about this team. They’ll bounce back from this – but what bothers me is the attitude, the mentality. Playing with a chip on the shoulder, ill-tempered, frustrated. This is a squad that has not gelled yet, and has not found its identity. They say a coach influences maybe 5% of the result. I say thats just for any given game. The coachs’ job is to shape the teams philosphy – it’s style of play, and he picks his players based on how well they fit that style. As long as there is no clear direction from Leo, no strong vision set forth for the players, this team ease slowly in the direction of Roma down the Serie A table in the year to year standings.

fuck life, fuck silvio, fuck inter, fuck gattuso for acting like an imbecile and losing this game for us, fuck me for not going to this great party tonight cause I wanted to watch this shit, fuck all the people that called and texted me tonight with their bullshit, fuck galliani and fuck the world
with that out of the way, I’d like to say that leo was least to blame for this defeat, in fact he remained calm in his first derby after all that crap went down which is admirable, all my support goes out to him, perhaps fucking silvio will listen to him and get one or two players in the next two days before it’s too late
ever since shevchenko left 5 years ago, we have been selling players and not bringing appropriate replacements. keep this up for two more years and games like this one will become a regular occurance
on the other hand, we have a team that sold ibra but got sneijder, eto’o, milito, motta and lucio – and got stronger in the process
but no, let’s stick with our management as they stick to the ‘we have a team of champions, we don’t need to spend money’ formula that doesn’t work in the real world
I watched Kaka play for Real tonight for a while, he was the best man on the pitch in the first half
this is bullshit, if we conceded 4 goals to inter, who knows what the fuck will happen when we travel to madrid in october
straight up bullshit

if I hear one word out of berlusconi’s mouth in the vein of ‘we were the better team’, ‘our champions will rise again’, or ‘we’re second to none’ I will fly to fucking Italy and shoot him in the face
huntelaar looked good btw, him and pato will be good together, and when they’re good together, dinho should be able to make more of an impact. I’m so frustrated it’s unbelievable, I’ve been breaking shit around the house since we conceded the third goal. this team could have been awesome if the management spent just 30 million of the kaka/gourcuff/CL money on two more strong players
I’ll be more coherent in the morning, hopefully

I never thought Leonardo was the best option as the coach for you guys. Obviously, this game wasn’t all his fault, but if you had had a more experienced manager, one who could grab Berlu by his saggy old cojones and let him know exactly what he needs to rebuild this team, you might have been better off.
Obviously I enjoyed this win, but startlingly, I saw many of the same things that I saw in the Foxboro derby. Prime amongst those was that when Milan went down by a goal, the players just seemed to stop trying. That kind of lack of motivation, again, can only be fixed by a more experienced coach.
I don’t want to sound like I’m rubbing it in, but if you notice, when Inter goes down, Mourinho starts prancing at the touchline, screaming at players to do the right things, and if that doesn’t work, he throws on a bunch of new players and changes the system till something else works. Leonardo just doesn’t seem to be capable of doing any of that. Jovan says credit to Leonardo for keeping his calm, I say boo to Leonardo for not caring enough to get agitated about the whole thing.
Here’s hoping your game shapes up, and you teach Moneybags Perez a lesson.

“Jovan says credit to Leonardo for keeping his calm, I say boo to Leonardo for not caring enough to get agitated about the whole thing.”
I would agree with you if the situation wasn’t what it was – after goal no. 1 the team didn’t stop trying, they stopped trying after the second goal and gattuso’s expulsion…and I don’t see what leonardo could have done at that point. to be honest, the game was beyond saving the moment gattuso got that second yellow card.
the only thing that leo should have done was bring on seedorf to patch up the midfield immediately instead of waiting for the halftime – perhaps he was hoping for our offensive trio to score before halftime so we would have some hint of a chance in the second? I don’t know. then he brought on huntelaar just in case we get a chance to score and ambro for the strength and (defensive) leadership in the midfield…I honestly don’t see what more any coach could have done with the team available.
I also doubt there is a coach in the world that could bring silvio to spend money he had no intention of spending, outside of a very small circle of coaches that are obviously unavailable like capello or mourinho.

As nice as that picture is Jorid, that won’t get Milan out of the shithole it’s in.

“the game was beyond saving the moment gattuso got that second yellow card.”
That is exactly the wrong attitude. I have seen many a 10 man team come from behind to at least draw if not win. The will has to be there.

shingai, i agree with almost everything you said; except i think flamini deserves some flak for not tracking milito’s run from the midfield that led to the first goal. milito waltzed through without much fuss. flamini must stop those runs, its not the first time its happened to him but boy do i hope its the last…

I really felt sorry for Pato… anyone agree? He did not show it on his face but the way he tried to do everything by himself shows he had no trust in his team-mates. For example Zambro would keep passing it to Pato to do something on the Flanks. OMG, Zambro should be the one running down the flanks and crossing it to Pato. Pato was a wingback, AM, FW, EVERYTHING. I am scared that Pato might leave us if these kind of scores reguarly happen. Of course we will get 50M, but we will probably spend 10 m of those 50 m. Maybe buying Scholes and Giggs??

Sorry for your loss, but even without Gattuso’s expulsion I don’t think you guys would’ve beaten us.
Where is Pippo? At least he gives his all everytime he puts on the jersey, and has the knack to score goals in important games.Posted from

skyder, no bullshit, i thought we were the better team right up until our bubble was burst by the first goal. it was a great contest because there were chances on both ends and good movement and i credit inter for a good win. but gattuso destroyed any chance we had of equalizing rather singlehandedly.

Full disclosure: I’m an Interista and was coming to enjoy the victory a little more but you guys have surprised me with the way you’ve handled the loss (and the shit talking). I’ll definitely be checking back in.
Have their been any rumors about Berlusconi selling up? He seems to have lost the desire to keep your team great. On the plus side, its looking like the Huntelaar/Pato partnership could be pretty impressive in a few months.
Oh and Jorid, I think that pic needs to be updated.

“Have their been any rumors about Berlusconi selling up?”
Only some random internet rumors so far, but I personally think he might be considering it.

I’ve seen teams come back with 10 men, but not in this situation – 2 goals down in the first half against a very organized, stronger and faster opponent. Of course milan could have tried attacking senselessly but all they would have accomplished in reality is conceding even more goals.
