Avia, if you are in Italy at any point in the week before a game, you can buy tickets at any branch of the Intesa San Paolo bank (there are more than 1,000) The Osservatorio announces its bans more than a week in advance, so it isn’t really a problem.
The story of why there is such a focus on violence is a very long one, but the fact that your president finds it to be politically useful is part of the story.

not Beckham, just the Milan season. it just feels right, just like 04, 99 and so on. of course anything can happen, but at the moment we’re a Scudetto-Playing team with the attitude and wins recently. in other words im just happy with the team so far.

…understood, fetyani. beckham is probably not much more than a publicity ploy; another way to help pack the house and sell memorabilia. why else would Milan want yet another midfielder, and one who couldn’t provide much spark to a MLS team.

yah i dont mind the beck deal, and we shouldnt. first of all we wont lose anything at all. second, we will get around 13 million out of him in 3-4 months. third, if carletto sees he can play in a game and he contributes the least still decent; its still a great deal all in all.
i wont mind if he doesnt play and just train, and if he does play and does something good, then great!

Just finished watchn the Milan/Siena match and is it just me or does the Siena coach look like a clean shaven Flamini???
Posted from

avia- i disagree… flamini is much hotter
. i’m joking i’m jus joking

fetyani- i’ve got that feelin too! it jus feels like it’s gonna be our season. especially with il capitano retiring at the end of it, winning the scudetto seems like the perfect script. but i dont wanna get too carried away… we’re probably feelin so optimistic cuz this is the 1st time in yrs we’ve been close to the top of the league…
am i the only one who does NOT want becks at milan??? ok ok it’s only 3 months but i cant help but think of gourcuff who didnt get enuff playin time n now becks is gonna walk in n i’m sure carlo is gonna give him chances to play. n what about cardacio? will we EVER get to see him play for any meaningful amt of time?

what i don’t like about beckham at milan is that whenever he plays, someone that is better than him will have to sit. that ain’t right, no matter how many shirts he sells.

Beckham will useful for Milan on free kicks, selling shirts and bringing in sponsers.
I don’t think he should (or will) start many games but he’s not a bad option to have on the bench to come on late on in game.
I think it’s a good alround decision my the Milan bigwigs this one.

let’s jus hope that the money he brings in would be used by galliani n co. for some good transfer activity… cuz i know we all don’t want another emerson or vieri…

I’m starting to see more clearly the crux of Milan’s erratic form. I think much of it has to do with Kaka’s attitude (and Seedorf’s too) of just doing enough in a game. It’s an attitude that then permeates through the whole team and they become disinterested and sloppy.
Sometimes ‘just enough’ is just enough for them but at other times they just drop points. Here again Milan started to lose control of the game in the first half and we were wondering why Kaka had drifted out if it and playing too far forward, when he suddenly pops up in his own half and starts that brilliant move that ended in Inzaghi’s brilliant finish.
Then again in the second half both he and Dorfy became annonymous for long periods and Siena almost punished them.

Beckham is a moneymaker - not a footballer. And don’t say he’s useful on free kicks ; that’s a myth akin to Roberto Carlos is a freekick taker - he has one of the lowest conversion percentages in the world game.

He has his zone, Fadayn, in which his deadly. Only problem is, it’s a pretty narrow zone. For sure he ain’t no Mihajlovic but not unuseful either.

But direct free kicks is just one aspect. He can also deliver dangerous balls from set pieces into the box.

you cant say Beckham is completely useless, he’s not that bad, yah of course he’s overrated and the media loves him and all that crap. but at the end of the day he is a decent player

In my view Ronnie (and perhaps Pirlo) can do everything that Becks can with free kicks, which renders the latter useless, as he is a pretty poor field player. But, injuries and fatigue do happen and there may be circumstances in which he may be useful, although I don’t expect that to be very often.
Interesting trivia question. How many other players can you name that went from MLS to Serie A?
