pera, I sort of agree with you. He was not beyond criticism, but I do think that the criticism was rather harsh last year. As always, I believe that a Milan player should not be boo-ed at the San Siro. That is unacceptable in my book. Even if it is Oddo, or Dida, or Gila.
But the funny part is that at the beginning of the year, there were so many people who said that they cant wait until the season started and “insert criticized player name here” could prove everyone wrong and they could come back here to gloat. And here we are and it is only you who is able to do this… Where is “Silvio” and the rest of the supposed Milan fans who sound and act more like FC Ronaldinho fans? Sitting in a corner and crying somewhere perhaps, while their deity contemplates retirement.

Haha of course not, they’re Romans after all, they can do no wrong Gian

And of course, as I say this, Karma will have it that Ronaldinho will have a blinder of a game in mid-week and make me eat all my words… But if it is for the good of Milan, I will be happy to do so… Much like how Avia is currently rather happy to eat his words after the performances of Dorf.

Romans should be Romanisti

I’d still be happy to have sold Dorf. If it had meant keeping Kaka or getting another AM in his place. Dorf is good on his day but he still holds up play. He is too slow.
I’m thankful he has performed well in the last 2 games but I’d still flog him if it meant getting someone younger, faster, better.
But I hope for the next 3-4 months at least he continues performing at this current level.

Seriously though, the Roma section of TheOffside has to be the most delusional. I mean, they suck for 4 games, then win 1 and all of a sudden they think they’re scudetto contenders? Even Milan which we all criticize this year is vastly superior to Roma, not to mention Inter, Juve and Genoa. Yes, Genoa.

hey didnt Carlo lose the last season opener against Bologna?

also, was anyone else also worried about Hunters absence on the pitch??
The guy just seemed to go completely awol
And i take it that we will be rotating the defenders (barring Silva & Nesta) during every match as was done today?
I think it might be a good idea as i just dont trust Oddo, Janks, Favalli, Kala over a whole 90!

“hey didnt Carlo lose the last season opener against Bologna?”
Didn’t Carlo not get embarrassed 4-0 against our greatest rivals?
ps. here we go again.
On a side note, Carlo is enjoying himself over at the EPL with a winning start and is yet to drop a point at Chelsea. It has been pretty impressive.. We will have to wait and see if this form continues, though.

not a bad start to season, 1 pt more than same time last season, only 1 loss from 5 games. take out the derby n weve done as well as inter. and K, carlo managd a few embarrassing defeats to inter and lets see where chelsea r in 5yrs if they keep carlo. im guessing theyl have the same players and formation

I think we played a good game as well; a finish by Inzaghi would have been great.

chelsea’s winning streak is mostly a product of drogba’s personal brilliance in attack and strong ass defenders in the back and the midfield. drogba’s goals won some games that were nearing a draw end, and just yesterday in the 3-0 victory over tottenham, he scored one goal, made an assist for one, and the third was scored after his shot was deflected…so basically, chelsea’s winning streak has little to do with tactics – one man is carrying that team on his shoulders right now as far as attacking goes.
as for defense, weren’t they always awesome at that ever since abramovic bought them? yep.
you know what ancelotti would have done in yesterday’s game? after seedorf scored, he would have pulled out pato to play flamini or something, then we would start defending and pulling back instead of holding the ball and we would have been at a greater risk of conceding a stupid late goal to an inferior team like we did so many times during his reign at milan.

Jovan, those conceded goals were not a product of substitutions though they were still Carletto’s fault, at times the backs were up to high opening Milan up for a counter, so if you bring in a striker or not to go for the jugular, it doesn’t matter because if your team is stretched you will be vulnerable! So it begs the question does the coach force the wingbacks up or do the wingbacks decide on their own based on circumstance???

Galliani will say and do anything to get credit when Milan is winning, he never fails to shock me!

Btw, anyone else overly in love with little abate? Just hope he gets more playing time especially now that we’re playing in the Cl and there will be many mid-week games.

“chelsea’s winning streak has little to do with tactics – one man is carrying that team on his shoulders right now as far as attacking goes”
I hope u did watch one chelsea game entirely to see that they are generally really strong as team, they are totally covered on every position, their bench is strong plus they play together for a few years. But this aint their blog.Gf you spoke about 135 minutes without goal in league.Unfortunately it was 225 minutes and thats what worries me the most.I dont know what to think about KJH, he looks pale. And i think Abate should play more definitely.

Jovan, Ancelotti never made those moves when he had a great defense to rely upon(look back to 04-06)… Last year we were bleeding goals on the counter and I thought they were the right moves to make…
This year, we have Nesta and Silva in defense… Last year we had a close to retirement Maldini (he was good, but no where close to his previous lofty heights) and Favalli for most of the year since Bonera and Kaladze were injured. Our central defense pairing this year allows us to be a little less conservative, where as last year, it did not.

k, having a weaker CB pair is precisely a reason to try to keep the ball on the opposite side of the field instead of pulling back and thus putting pressure on said CB pair.
pera, I know Chelsea is compact and strong in every position, but they’ve had that quality way before Carlo’s arrival.

ah come on!
chelsea were on auto pilot under Grant when they reached the CL final
how much does Carlo actually need to do (not much is my answer!)
Posted from

yeah, avia, I suppose you are right.. But if they do win the CL this year, and/or the EPL, Ancelotti will have proven that he does have something to even take Chelsea to the next level.
Mind you, Chelsea have not won the EPL since Mourninho left…
