Maldini Monday

By: Gianfranco | September 29th, 2008

Watching Paolo in what would be his last Serie A home derby today was a special treat. What made the moment even better was the fact that Milan was able to come away with the win, with Il Capitano contributing to a great victory. Time and time and again we saw him push Zlatan, Quaresma, Mancini, and Adriano to the brinks of frustration which reminded us all the while that this man, at in his forties, still has the ability to mark some of the best strikers in Serie A. Even as his career comes to a close it makes me smile knowing that even on his last legs he can lead the team to victory and play to make difference no matter who the opponent. Yesterday was a spectacular win for Milan, Carletto, Ol’ Sil, and most importantly for Paolo Maldini. With performance like this you have to believe that deep down inside he really wants to go a winner.

Thought Maldini was fantastic in that old fashioned man-marking centre back role last night. i’ve just popped in here because its getting all racist and/or overly sensitive on the Roma blog.

I’m off to see Milan Samp in a couple of weeks. Samp are a fine team but like milan until recently they just aren’t getting the results.

Fadayn – yor lucky to be watchn Samp! Wouldnt mind seeing them do good this season along with Napoli & even Lazio (as long as WE take the Scudetto lol!)

Maldini was amazn last night, easily overlooked with all the fireworks happening upfront.

I did wonder how Maldini was gona deal with Abramo & Quaresma but he soon put my mind to rest and we kept a clean sheet against the merda! Amazn! Even tho Carlo will down play it, i really hope this is a turn around from the first couple of matches we played!

Im still buzzn over the result last night, it was a really important victory for everyone Red & Black.

I hope this goes a long way to Dinos road to recovery and im hopn that watchn Dino get the ovation and all the plaudits will jar Shev into puttin in the work also!

Once everyone is back and firing on all cylinders we truly have the potential to set Serie A alight!

    Forza Milan!

one reason i was so happy was because i was assured Paolo at least got 1 derby win in his last season. but he still needs us to give him the scudetto to make it complete and perfect.

here’s the 1st half of the game. ill post the 2nd half as soon as they’re uploaded.

    Another year Maldini?

    Maybe? :P

Or be the assistant manager. He’s such a huge icon, it’s gonna be really hard to see him leave.

P.S. I miss Nesta! Shit, think about it. We kept a clean sheet against INTER, without NESTA!

When Nesta comes back.. :D :D

Buuut that doesn’t mean our back-line is strong. Still weak, and we need Thiago Silva in January.

Well Moka, it’s probably not the same for you… but I loved the Nesta sighting, with Figo no less!

Maldini was amazing. Marked Zlatan right out of the game. People can say he didn’t play well because he didn’t show up to a “big game”, but I think it was 99% down to Maldini owning his ass.

i was just thinking about the samething moka today. canat wait for him to be back. Nesta will be back after the international break, well at least according to doc manara last week. hopefully so does Senderos. i doubt Paolo will be an assistant manager. he always said he doesnt seem him self coaching. he’s also not a big fan of management.

moka watch this, galliani’s interview after the game.

other than the usual he’s saying, he’s saying the yellow tie is his favorite, they never lost since he wore it.

mourinho’s interview, lol @ his sore attitude. he was surprise to see Cesare Maldini there lol.

can anyone find a picture of Kaka being onside, I wanna post it on my blog but can only find video’s of it. It would be fantastic if it was a picture with the onside line through the last defender. Cheers

Maldini was a delight to watch. Ibrahimovic was dangerous but still il-Capitano was too good for him this time.

And when the injured are back and match-fit this is going to be a helluva team, but they have to play to their potential and not become complacent. I expect(ok, hope) Carletto to rotate the squad more, especially for auxiliary competitions.

Imagine this (it’s not hard to dooo):

    Abbiatti

    Zambro Nesta Maldini/Kaladze Janks

    Gattuso/Ambro Pirlo Seedorf

    Kaka Ronaldinho

    Pato/Borriello
