Maldini Monday

By: Gianfranco | January 7th, 2008

Staying with the trend of Maldini Il Film in this week vidoes it leads to awesome Champions League footage. I would like to talk a little about Il Capitano’s Champions League record but then realized the stats speak for themselves.

162 Appearences in the Champions League from 1989 to present with the possiblity 7 more.
3 Goals, hey he is a defender who rarely scores
5 CUPS…obscene. Do you realize how miniscule the number of Champions League winners are and Maldini has done it 5 TIMES!!

Il Capitano has come out this week and said that he hopes that his final game of his career is played in Moscow in the Champions League Final 2008. Myself and all the other Milanista can only hope Il Capitano gets his wish and in turn we are able to see him off as a true champion.

Enjoy the vidoe and as always share yours. The next few Maldini Monday’s I would like to do Maldini memories so if anyone wants to contribute I would really appreciate it.

My Maldini memory criteria, if you can recall, is as follows:
The game, the score, the tournament?, and what did Il Capitano to make it so memorable.

Are you sure Gianfranco…I mean cuz sometimes I really worry about your sanity…:P

You have effectively made me cry…are you happy now? I’m going to miss Maldini and these post are like salt in the wound. I must be really sick though because as much as it upsets me I still come back for more Maldini monday.

Anyways my maldini memory is the first time I can remember seeing a soccer game I was four and was fascinated by him…or the ball going back in forth I’m not sure but definetly he’s always stuck in my mind. Sorry can’t give you anymore details because like I said I was four and I don’t recall much more information.

ahhh, maldini’s tackle about 1:07 seconds in is one of my favorite tackles…ever, glad its in there. it’s so sweet. and yess, can’t wait for the day when the seedorf tackle is posted, always puts a smile on my face. maldini is love. Long live maldini mondays!

haha, im sorry, and if we didn’t win that final i wouldn’t be laughing… but does anyone else find sheva’s reaction after the offside goal amusing? in all of 2 seconds, he’s celebrating, sees the flag, and is dejected. maybe it was just the way the video did it..or maybe something’s wrong with me. ahem.

Hana no your right it was quite funny about sheva…does anyone else think in that clip sheva looks like a certain target milan should be thinking about from germany?

    Milan 2-0 UAE

Gilardino scored twice, same old goals, someone shots the ball/pass it, Gila touches it and goal!

Gourcuff was the only player who played the whole game. and he was kinda the only one who was playing from his heart. i still believe in him and think we should keep him. Ronaldo wasnt bad, nothing special. All in all, it was a classic friendly game.

Now we get ready for Serie A.

    i was at the game… yay…

but ronaldo was worse than nothing special fetyani, he sucked it up big time… couldnt chase a single ball down… i have seen blimps move faster…

gourcuff played well, i agree, him and paloschi played with heart, because for them this is a chance to prove themselves… and i think gourcuff did… paloschi needs more time to grow, but i was impressed with him nonetheless…
