Maldini Monday
By: Gianfranco | April 7th, 2008Two weeks we honored Cesare on Italian Fathers day, but today I found this and thought I should share it…

Father and Son version 2…

As I stated earlier when we started this tribute if anyone wants to share memories of Maldini in the comments I will share them in the following Maldini Monday. We may also be blessed with Il Capitano for another year so we will need a TON of Maldini Monday content.

Those pictures slay my heart. Especially the second one.
Paolo, stay. Just…stay.

Thanks for your condolences
Maldini monday always manages to uplift my spirits…I love both pictures and I hope that Maldini doesn’t leave at the end of this season.

guys, am slightly behind - have been travelling and was just catching up with the footie gossip (but of course on goal.com!) - saw an article there saying maldini might play his last year out at newcastle? how can that be remotely true?
also, had mentioned it earlier as well - but are we seriously thinking of loaning out palo to genoa to get boriello back?Posted from

lol sam, you read that article on april 1st, april’s fools.
i read that Milan want to swap Gilardino with Borriello. it will be a long and anticipating transfer market, we just have to sit back and put our faith in our transfer guru and hope they make the right decisions.

Papa Cesare said he thinks Paolo will stay!! yay
Paolo listen to your father, he knows whats best for you.
he also said, “[Adriano] Galliani always calls him into his offices to talk about the contract extension. In twenty days, after a new medical evaluation he will make his decision.”

Pay no attention to todays goal.com rumor of choice linking Milan to Lell and Schweinsteiger of Bayern. Klinsman taking over that squad means that the german players, especially the young ones, will see much support and playing time from their old World Cup coach. Any success old Jurgen had is owed to the likes of Lahm, Poldolski, & Shweinstieger. Don’t be surprised if Frings is brought into the midfield there as well…

No chance of Lahm now. Damn, I love any defenders that can switch from right-back to left-back comfortably.
Avia, I’m hoping for our sakes your friend is dead wrong. You gotta imagine the media would be buzzing about info by now if it were true. (That’s me grasping at straws.)

Does anyone else find it mildly difficult to care about the Champions League all that much right now? I had completely forgotten it was matchday til I woke up this morning. I just can’t get excited, especially with four fricking English teams in there.
If Roma somehow make it through tomorrow it’ll be a different story, but right now, bleh.

Hey! Ive always got time for the CL.
Some of the best football on the planet i have watched in this very comp.
Yeah, not having our boys in there means it does kinda blow this year, but im looking forward to Roma/Man U. Even the Liverpool/Arsenal match tonight.
Cant wait to watch the Barca match in the next leg!

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m still watching, Chelsea on the tv and Pool/Arse on the computer, I just dont’ have that deep-in-the-stomach excitement for the competition I normally have.

agree with you bonnie.
however glad the greater of two evils were knocked out tonight by liverpool.
ps where is the arsenal fan that tried to wind us up on this board a few weeks back.

It was a good game by Liverpool. Now I hope they knock Chelsea out, but matches between those two are never pretty.
Haha, seriously Peter, where’s his little taunts now?

good performance by pool in the 2nd half, although my jaw dropped at 2-2. I thaught it was over. Well played to babel!
Again the semi will be two teams I detest but at least lpool are ok on the eye.
the geek is probably crying and thinking of excuses!

Aw, too bad. I was actually hoping for the Gunners to make it all the way. So much for that…

‘m happy it’s Liverpool going through, they’re my EPL team I support. But I was mostly just happy that it was a great game to watch. Like Peter, I thought it was over at 2-2. Great subs by Rafa as usual.
Fet, I said the EXACT same thing when I saw Galliani’s words.
