Tuesday Milan Musings
By: Gianfranco | January 15th, 2008-By the sheer grace of God the trance has been lifted from Silvio Berlusconi! He is no longer madly in love with Ronaldinho, instead he has turned his attention to other players. On top of that he claimed that, “We would not do anything to get him.” This can only mean that he was under the influence of some mind altering drug because I could have sworn that he loved Dinho almost as much as Sheva. I am OK over the whole thing and maybe he will turn his wallet towards other things.
-Former diavolo, Marco Borriello, who is now stomping goals in the net at Genoa, has stated that he would not mind making a return to the San Siro. He bagged a brace on Sunday and has proven that he can really score; I would take him back, heck he wouldn’t. He would make a great addition if a big name striker was not added, or if Ronaldo left.
-Speaking of Ronaldo, friend of the blog, and faithful commenter Ro has figured how to keep Ronaldo moving as quickly possible. Check it out after the jump.

-I have finally settled down after Sunday’s fantastic win over Napoli, and the first of the season on San Siro soil. It was really great to see the team really unify around Pato and working extremely hard to make sure he got his first goal in the Serie A. The game was not without fault though and the 5-2 score line glosses over the loss of a lead on two separate occasions. Lavezzi is a really amazing player and you have to say that his ability to attack the goal is very, very, very good so one goal, or the creation of one is hard to defend against. But allowing Sosa, who has had an abysmal season, score virtually unmarked is a pretty serious issue in my opinion. Bonera did much, much better in the second half with better performances he will continue to earn time in Serie A fixtures. Kaladze was also a bit lost for much of the first half, both covering for Maldini, who has high in the attack, and covering his own space as well. The offense looks great, let’s have the defense follow suit.
-With a fair amount of matches coming up with CL, Coppa Italia, and Serie A; it is very important for everyone to be firing on all cylinders and Carletto to have a ton of players at his disposable. Gila, Pippo, Brocchi, Gourcuff, and even Emerson (GOD I HOPE NOT) will see plenty of action and I hope Carletto keeps a watchful and plays the hot hands in games to come. Imagine a line up looking like close to this.
Gila, Pato, Kaka, Ambro/Seedorf/Gourcuff, Pirlo, Rino, Janks/Maldini, Bonera/Kaladze, Nesta, Cafu/Oddo with Simic and even Gourcuff worked in. If we are not going to get better we may as well season what we have got. Better to lose with your best, than to rest them on the bench if you ask me.

How could you forget to congratulate our scholar boys!
“Valerio Fiori and Massimo Oddo both brilliantly passed (with a maximum grade of 30), yesterday at Atri next to the University of Teramo, the exam of Sports Psychology. Both rossoneri players are involved in specialised university courses: Management of sporting companies for Fiori, economic, justice, and managerial Sciences for Oddo. We remind that in July 2007 Valerio Fiori earned his degree in Rights at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome.”
As for Boriello, i dont think ill take him back. him playing well at another team doesn’t mean he’ll play good for us, i see him as a mediocre player and we all know mediocrity doesnt have a place in Milan, we have and want only the best of the best.

“These days they wouldn’t miss me much,” Gattuso said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news that Silvio doesnt want Ronaldinho anymore. I personally didnt want him at all( unless Barca were planning to sell him for free). I hope we get a fullback in January. Silvio says Zambrotta will come in June, but I would like to see one now. Somehow I cant trust Cafu/Sergino/Favalli in these positions, if Jankulovski or Oddo get injured

Woah, woah, woah…. What was the context of that statement by Gattuso? I can’t imagine him saying that.
Hell - if he thinks Milan won’t miss him, maybe he can come to Roma.
Gattuso + De Rossi positioned right in front of the defense = seriously frustrated opposition.

“I’ll play for another three or four years and then I’m hoping to finish my career in the Milan shirt.”
so he basically doesn’t want to leave Milan, just retire. but still!!!!

Rino has stated in the past that he will stop playing as soon as he can no longer give 100% so for our sake as well the azzuri we need him to keep rolling.

That picture of ronaldo had me tickled for quiet a while…I just had to share it with you guys here. But all credit goes to Trixie for thinking of it and Kassey for making it. When I see that I think of the McDonalds commerical Barapapapa I’m Loving it!
Well I just about cried when I heard Rino was going to leave…Gianfranco when he leaves you should do rino tuesdays for a month before the end of the season…lol
As for the whole Boriello thing Hell if he can score then come on back home!

Rino being Rino, he likes to be funny. I don’t think he’s even remotely thinking about leaving the team anytime soon. He bleeds red-and-black.

wasn’t boriello sold to genoa… i didnt think it was a loan deal… so wouldn’t we have to buy him back?!

He’s on a “comproprieta” deal, in which each club owns half of his registration. They would therefore need to agree on where he is going to play next season, and if that doesn’t happen, there will be a sealed bid procedure in which each club submits a bid, and the one submitting the higher bid gets his entire registration.

Ursus many thanks for that extremely scholarly response, and I do not believe Milan would lose in that sealed bid sweepstakes. I still like the idea of a having a solid base of Italian stars both Azzuri and potential Azzuri. Remember the Milan clubs of old, and the most succesful of the Azzuri teams WC94, Euro00, WC06 all had Rossoneri blood in those azzuri veins…

You’re not fit to write about Ac Milan.

What the heck are you talking about Danny? Because there isn’t anyone better to write about milan…Gianfranco does an excellent job obviously because we all keep coming back for more. Who do you think would be a better fit to write about milan?
