Saturday Afternoon Hangover
By: Gianfranco | December 22nd, 2007
Well itâs that time of year again, the Derby della Madonnina. This year the Derby has extra special meaning even though Mancini claims that he feels no rivalry with Good Guys of Milan. This is the same Mancini who belittled the Rossoneriâs Champions Cup win, which Inter have never tasted, and then further belittled the World Clup Championship which he called, a âfriendly tournament,â sounds like sour grapes Mr. Mancini. The real reason for the extra special meaning is that Milan could slap around the Serie A leaders with a good performance and potentially pick up some much needed momentum for the Serie A campaign.
Carletto understands the importance of this fixture and will most definitely play the A squad consisting of Dida, maybe Paolo, Janks, Oddo, Nesta, Ambro, Pirlo, Rino, Seedorf, Kaka & Gila. This game is the exact reason that Milan-Catania (more on that later) last Thursday was lined up the way it was, Carletto wanted all the big guns rested. Do I believe Milan can win? As a rational fan I would like to think that at any given time Milan can command a game and the midfield and eek out a one goal win. If it turns into a goal fest, like last season, I donât expect Milan, the AC variety, to win this game. But that is why we play the games and I pumped for this one. Hopefully we can rely on Fetyani for an inside scoop.
Milan Keys to Victory
-Shut down Zlatan, easier said than done, isnât that everyoneâs key to victoryâŚ
-Pressure the crap out of the leaky back line, and shoot shoot shoot.
-Did you ever realize that when you read keys to victory they are always the same, I mean if Milan shoots more, possesses more, and plays airtight defense wouldnât they win every game? I promise I will never put you through keys to victory againâŚ
Milan-Catania Wrap Up
Look it is important to note that Carletto wanted a B-squad so that the prime team was ready for Inter. With that being said, other than Digao, the team was interesting to watch and almost exciting for me. Had he slotted in Kaladze or even Bonera next to Digao things may have worked out differently. The next leg will be an interesting affair, to see what Carletto has up his sleeve. How about Aubamayeng? I think the kid has got talent.
Champions League
Arsenal, f*cking Arsenal. They are playing well and really have the potential to run Milan into the ground. The nice thing is that Milan has a good track record against young teams and could really suffocate any EPL team when they want to. I am excited for these games, but nervous all the same. Their game against Chelsea last week was some intense stuff and they will not roll over for anyone.
Odds and Ends
More hot and heavy âDinho rumors which I have more or less decided to leave alone, but expect the Janaury transfer window to turn into a hot stove right after the derby tomorrow news next week, and donât forget Maldini Mondayâs.

Nesta and Ringhio will be decisive in marking the players, one mistake will cost a lot. MARK ZLATAN..ZLATAN..ZLATAN, that gypsy can play! If Pirlo & Seedorf play well i wont be that worried. Kaka will be marked tightly and will get hit couple of times, but as long as Pirlo & Seedorf do their work we’ll be good, and Kaka will escape sooner or later and when he does hopefully it will be dangerous. i say if Gila will start, Pippo must come in the second half, i dont trust Gila anymore, well at least not with a game like this. I’d like to see IL CAPITANO from the beginning of course, but if he does come in the second half he’ll have more energy to play as a wing back. and lets just all pray at night that Dida doesnt screw up.
i cant wait and at the same time im so scared, i have complete faith in our boys, but…..just the thought of us being behind in the game is overwhelming, i dont think ill come out of the stadio the same person. so lets all pray for another 6-0
FORZA MILAN, INTER MERDA!

too bad the ultras are boycotting the match, it’s a real shame… not just for anti-Inter fans like myself, but especially for Fetyani.
Sucks you picked the one Milan derby where the ultras will be silent the entire game. My condolences.

excuse me while go kill myself. sjrhobydoiUydkoji!~ *sigh* Ro, the ref was actually decent, made good calls, can’t blame him. that second goal was a pure defensive fumble, plain and simple. its true, if i ever meet dida in person, i might have to punch him in the face, that was embarrassing. however, our whole defense was to blame, gave cambiasso the room and space and the time to take a shot and do as he pleased.
im so incredibly frustrated, especially after the stellar opening we had with pirlo. both sides were pretty even at the half, nesta totally shut ibra down, kaka’ was making some nice runs. after that second goal though, it pretty much all died for us.

mind you, should we have gotten that penalty for kaka’? yes, but kaladze had a handball too that wasn’t called. putting the blame on the ref is stupid.

So, you think Milan will get a new keeper this summer? And what about Mourinho – will he be able to pick up Ancelotti’s pieces?

(copy-paste)
no human being should ever experience the feeling i had today, the walk of shame from lo stadio to my hotel with interisti all over the city.In my section i was surrounded by a couple of thousand interisti and only a couple of dozen milanisti, but for about 20 mins i was literally on top of the world, i was up alone and just screaming for over 10 minutes and couple of hundred interisti giving me dirty looks and the finger. my first ever ârealâ goal experience at the San Siro was priceless, the joy was unbelievable, but so sad it didnt last
no words can explain how it feltâŚjust PRICELESS. of course for the rest of the day i was soooo depressed, just repeating one thing âwhy god!! why!!â but thats soccer and that what makes it so special. just remembering the moment when Pirlo scored is worth the damn 600 euro ticket (original price 150 euro). from now on every penny i get ill save for the next derby, hopefully a win and weâll have SOME DAMN SUPPORTERS!!!the pirlo goal from my camera
