Ian you bother because like I said to Antonio earlier you have an emotional interest. You are looking for that moment that we all have that makes you happy to be a Milan, a goal from 35 meters, a incisive pass that makes you remember why you love the game in the first place, or a tackle that is so thunderous you celebrate it like a goal…that is why you watch…so sure the team sucks, I gladly admit, have been preaching it even to my friends and family, but I still watch to see if someone can create magic out of this living nightmare, can Abate grow into a stud, can Silva make the phenomenal tackle, and will Storari continue to make save after save, sure these hopes dont lead to results, but they are small glimmers of hope in what has become a lost season…

“Good point Jovan, but how often does that Cissokho incident happen? Are u sure they stated he signed, or that he was there and undergoing a medical?”

    read post above yours. :p

Apparently at Milan it happens at a very regular basis. Lets not forget the G. Rossi incident this summer. Admittedly that was the job of a hacker but no such case for Cissokho and Suazo.

    Hmmm. From Football Italia:

Galliani had time for an interview with the Milan Channel.

“I expressed four fundamental concepts to the group. Above all I reminded them that this is a winning group of players. I calmed them all down by underlining that no one is going to touch this group and that these players and the current staff will go forward until the end of the season,” Galliani revealed.

    Anyone believe him?

That’s the same Galliani that would never sell Kaka because he was ‘family’.

    K–

Well said. There is no denying the “Golden Generation” their due respect. i loved watching Rui Costa and Paulo Sosa in their heyday at Fiorentina and B. Dortmund/Juve. What a Midfield they had. Never was quite a Figo fan, though.

I hope Milan comes up with a great midfield again. Everytime they have won a championship, they have had an awesome midfield.

GF–who are some of the up and coming midfielders from the Milan youth teams?

GF–Well said about Rui Costa. There is no denying that he was a master playmaker. Easily in the same class as Savicevic and Boban.

What I particularly liked about him was that he was always selfless. It is no accident that they won a championship with him in their midfield. All I want to stress is that it is important to have someone who is that good at their peak, in the defining moments of their career. Seedorf I would also give the same kind of respect to. But for the future of Milan and the seasons to come, we need that spark. Maybe we should consult Zidane? I’ve seen him on T.V. observing and recriuting those special players….

leonardo has no business being the coach at ac milan.

and over half the players at ac milan, have no business wearing the red & black every weekend.

    dida: done
    abbiati: old and nearly done
    storari: playing by default
antonini: never seen him make a play
bonera: as overrated as it gets
favalli: it’s a joke that he is still on our roster
jankulovski: second most overrated player at milan, no speed, no defending ability, no crossing abilty, nothing.
kaladze: always injured, he is done as well
nesta: pretty close to being done, maybe his final year
onyewu: not even the best defender from his country, only bought him because usa went far in confed cup
    zambrotta: done
    ambrosini: done
    gattuso: done
pirlo: easily the most overrated player at milan. provides nothing to the team. absolutely nothing. pirlo is finished.
seedorf: pretty close to being done.
    borriello: not good enough
ronaldinho: past his prime, will never be able to lead this team to any kind of title.
pippo inzaghi: probably his last productive season.

    that leaves:

    thiago silva
    ignazio abate
    matthieu flamini
    pato
    klaas jan-huntelaar

we have only 5 FREAKING PLAYERS THAT ARE WORTH AT DAMN AT AC MILAN!!!

everybody else is either finished, close to being finished, or not good enough to begin with.

our youth academy provides zero talent and prospects.
there is a lot of work to be done, it will be a very long season.
hold on tight, it will be a very bumpy ride.

Milan have been boring to watch for a long time now, but last season there was still some memorable games which threw up some nice emotions, now there is nothing. I’m as uninterested in them as Silvio is. But I still seem to go out of my way to watch them on TV or on a tiny, rubbish quality internet feed. I don’t know why I bother.

I agree. A sense of loyalty? Or might it be akin to the strange curiosity that makes one stop to watch a train wreck…

i will never jump ship from milan unless it’s really sinking. we’re poor and shitty at the moment, but since i’m being metaphorical, those are just choppy seas and the biggest problem is boredom, like what fifaguy mentioned.

milan are boring as ass to watch. not only do we not score goals, but we don’t even get scored on. normally that’s a good thing but it’s infuriating watching ties or games decided by one goal, whichever way they go. i guess it’s like the whole ‘beautiful football’ argument, but i’d argue it’s more than that because a) we don’t get results like carletto did with ugly football, and b) there’s nothing to look forward to.

you can’t really feel that strongly about this team because it isn’t interesting. there aren’t any big prospects or goals to look for other that qualifying for champions league next year. qualifying. how pathetic is that?

    WOMAN & CHILDREN FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IM SURE THERE ARE A QUIET FEW OF US WHO WILL GO DOWN WITH THE SHIP?

YES THINGS ARE CURRENTLY SHIT, REALLY SHIT BUT SURELY SOME SOME OF US HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE?

I STILL RELIVE THE EXCTASY OF BARCA IN CL94 BUT WEAR THE SCARS OF LOSING MVB, CAPELLO, BARESI FFS!, THE 96-98 WILDERNESS YEARS

lol avia put down the coffee for a sec. i hope you are not shortsighted and just didn’t understand my point.

“really sinking” doesn’t have to do with standings or players. to me, milan is more than the sum of its parts. it has to with the people in charge making sure that the name milan is not disgraced. i have no problem saying that if great shame were ever brought to milan i would jump ship, but milan can go to serie C2 without doing this. you can’t fault someone for leaving his wife if he finds her knocking boots with her boss; in fact, in 99% of cases, it’s pretty pathetic if he doesn’t.

it’s the same reason i don’t respect unrepentant divers in the game; they have brought themselves shame and let down their supporters. calciopoli was incredibly taxing and shameful for all of serie a (definitely including milan), and imagine how that felt to juventus fans. imagine how betrayed they felt when the revelations involving management came out, and when the pessotto tragedy happened. i’m sure all juventus fans have their own views on the subject but i have a friend who no longer supports them because of those events. and i can’t fault him for it because in his eyes everything that happened sunk the name juventus.

for the same reason, i couldn’t have ever been a lazio fan, past or present, because of their racially-charged history. it has nothing to do with the fact that they’ve fallen from grace over the past decade and everything to do with fans chanting slurs at even their own players. if that became the norm at milan i would set fire to my milan shirt and i have no problem telling that to any “die-hard fan”. well-meaning lazio fans deserve better.

to use an example from my hometown of toronto, the NHL’s most popular team has not won the stanley cup since 1967 in a league that has historically been much smaller than top-flight football. this on its own is excusable if you “beleaf”, but it’s not the whole story. there remain legions of loyal toronto maple leafs fans, which used to include myself. but then i realized that the reason for bad performance had nothing to do with players or even coaches, but rather the shameful direction that the people with suits have given the team over the years. it’s a wildly-profitable enterprise owned by the ontario teacher’s pension fund, designed to make incredible money by preying on fans that don’t revolt and don’t really care enough that toronto doesn’t have the tools to win. the legacy and name of the maple leafs is forever tainted so even though they look like a good team this year i remain skeptical of the club; it’d take a number of shows of good faith to make me reboard the maple leafs ship.
