Acceptance

By: Gianfranco | October 1st, 2009

I think at this point many of us, save a few delusional Dinho fans; have reached the acceptance phase of the plight of our AC Milan. The recent performances may have killed even the most diligent optimist, and if you are still stuck in the denial phase then look at the last three matches: loss to Udinese, draw with Bari, and the loss to Zurich the final two both being at home, you would notice that we have not scored a goal in 270 competitive minutes of football, if that it isn’t clear as day than I don’t know what else is, matter of factly, WE SUCK.

So now that we are all in agreement where do we go from here? Sure I can recap and analyze the Zurich match, but that would be an effort in futility. Frankly I am tired of saying we played average, our coach has zero tactical sense, and our players our mediocre. I am sick of looking for positives when it is far easier to just accept the failure of the 09-10 campaign. So back to the where do we go from here question, I am not going anywhere and it seems by the comments many of you going all hands deck on with me on a ship that is made to sink, and for that I commend you. Even though we are sinking it doesn’t mean we cannot take a rational look at how this mess can be resolved.

The first and most important thing is management. Yes they have let us down, but in their 25 year reign this let down has really only happened once before the era following that led down saw two league titles and two CL’s, so in this regard I still have faith. Sure it may have be done in a more frugal fashion, but this summer’s targets in Dzeko and Cissokho were promising, Fester just couldn’t seal the deal, and he needs to correct that mistake come January and in the upcoming off season. Some of you want a sale, I just want an acceptance of failure and promise to do better, all we need is a Mike Ashley type new owner who furthers this problem and then we will be proper fucked to put it rather plainly. I prefer the evil I know over the evil that could be.

Step two, Leo graciously steps down. By doing so he and the club save face and he can go back to what he does well, scouting. In his place should come either Tassotti or Baresi. Promote from within, in players we formerly trusted and have first-hand knowledge of the youth system. This rebuild will not happen without some help from the primavera and best to put guys in charge who have been at that level to make this happen.

Third, and this one should happen in January, buy GRossi! He immediately brings youth and scoring prowess to a team who desperately needs it, and he may be the answer to the role behind the strikers. He wants Milan and many of us want him, this would bring the fans back on board, and give us a danger man we desperately lack. He would also be a piece of the puzzle that you can build around and assure a bit of future for the club and the Italian heritage it proudly boasted in the past.
grossi
Once these three steps have been put in place Leo can know be instrumental in bringing in talent in the 5-10M range under the age of 28. Wingbacks, specifically on the left are of the utmost priority. Soon thereafter a player in the mold of D’Agostino should be brought on board to fill the aging apparently lead filled boots of Andrea Pirlo. It doesn’t have to be the Udinese man, but likely candidates need to have his skill set. An additional striker wouldn’t hurt but if you really stop and think about it, KJH could eventually produce and along with Borriello and Pato, it isn’t all that bad. If KJH is a failure, which I feel like could happen just the same, then unload and start again. Players are out there and we can find them, but the task has to be taken seriously and efficiently. Stop for a moment and consider a team with Storari or Abbiati, Abate, Nesta, Silva, New LB, Flamini, New CM, Ambro/Rino, GRossi, Pato and Borriello it really is not all that bad now is it! So for the love AC MILAN make it happen, it is going to get worse before it gets better, but this rut can’t last forever, it hasn’t in the past and shouldn’t in the future. This club is far to legendary and far to special to many of us, even the management believe it or not, to let it crash and burn like this!

ac milan has been an old squad since 2004, 2005.

YOUNG players they have added since then include pato, gourcuff, flamini, thaigo silva, and huntelaar.

that’s insane. gourcuff is now gone (another mistake). so since the 04/05 campaign ac milan have signed 4 quality young players. that is ridiculous.

and it’s the main reason why ac milan is old, non productive squad.

i was fooled when we sold kaka. i thought we would actually use that money to rebuild the squad. and as capello pointed out, we sold kaka at a discount to real madrid. kaka should have cost much closer to the money real madrid shelled out for ronaldo. even then we got 62 for kaka, yet wouldn’t spend 19-20 for luis fabiano??

the sale of kaka was the true writing on the wall. then letting a player like gourcuff go (who could have tried to help replace kaka) was another foolish move.

i hoped that the huntelaar signing would save our dire transfer campaign. but it hasn’t.

the team simply is TOO OLD. the old players must go, there MUST BE A YOUTH MOVEMENT AT AC MILAN. the days of pirlo, nesta, gattuso, seedorf, and ambrosini ARE OVER!!! they’ve been over for two plus seasons now. i appreciate and value what all of those veterans did for the ac milan cause. they are all great champions that simply do not have the class anymore.

selling kaka and gourcuff in one summer. WHAT A DISASTER!

i don’t understand the hatred for nesta and pirlo. and i think gattuso is a neccesary part of the team, in fact the trascinatore according to carletto. you don’t just toss players like that. guys like ambrosini and favalli, even seedorf i can see going, but a full-out exodus is a mistake.

pirlo’s been on-and-off recently, fine, but he has a lot of gas left in the tank with the right inspiration and team understanding. it’d break my heart to face pirlo in a match.

nesta has probably been the best defender in serie a so far, so the idea of tossing him before he shows significant signs of age is a particularly offensive thought to me. if he slows down or loses concentration like maldini did in his last two years (albeit interspersed with pure class at times) then he can become a backup like favalli, but doing nesta like that just isn’t right.

3m – i dont thing there is ANY hatred of Nesta, far from it, most of the comments since the season started have always put Nesta in a good light (imo he is one of the few GENUINE good players in the squad)

Pirlo can get the fuck out however, the only decent moves i have seen him been involved in where when he was playing for the Azzuri

Rino im willing to put into the same Pirlo boat, he wanted to leave last season and either he is just feeling his age or his heart is no longer in it plus we have a ready made replacement in Flamini

It sounds harsh but im sick of players who we can only count in for 1 in every 3/4 matches

Karma’s a bitch isn’t it? Yeah you guys have become the inter of 5 or 6 years ago and we in turn have taken your place. I never thought I would live to see this day, the day where you finally admit defeat to us. Now you know how we felt during all those years of humiliation, oh trust me, we will enjoy watching you suffer the way we did for all those years while you taunted and humiliated us, now its your turn. Have fun :)

avia, Gattuso is feeling his age. I think its unfair to say his heart is not into it. He wanted to leave last year but after being convinced not to, he turned in amazing performances last year until he got injured. He was the player of the first half of the season for us, imo.

I really don’t know much about coaches… but when this topic pops up, a few names come into my mind. Spaletti is there, but rather than him, I prefer Bielsa, whose term with Chile’s national team could end by the end of the year, or maybe I’m wrong, Otto rehhagel, coach of the greek national team, Bilic, a bit novice but a pretty good coach. Honnestly, I don’t think Marco Van Bastien is a good coach, and certainly not Roberto Donadoni,… I can’t think of better names than Bielsa, or Rehhagel, mainly ’cause I’m almost completely ignorant about coaches.

You can say whatever you want to make us feel bad widdle boy, but lets track your story and see who is worse off.

You started off as Mickey, the passionate but a little bit stupid sfinterista. Then you started insulting wayyy too many people, you got scared, and made up that you were your brother Marco. As Marco, you started sucking off all the Juventini and saying that Mickey (you) was only 12. Whilst you were acting like the town whore as Marco (i.e. sucking off all the juventini) you were still posting under Mickey, acting like an even bigger dickhead than before. That’s when Marco (you) told us that, and this is no joke people, daddy had confiscated Mickey’s computer hahahahha… ahem, sorry, it’s just a bit funny.

So we thought we’d never have to SEE SO MANY CAPS LOCK WRITTEN WORDS AGAIN. BUT!!! You came back. This time as Francesco, trying to start afresh so that people might take you seriously. That was until you started raving like a 12-year-old lunatic which reminded everyone of another 12-year-old that used to rave like a lunatic.

So then you came back as the Troll, only this time you tried to alienate the only people that would have had your back, threatening to sue every sfinterista you could get your lawyer (is he/she 12 too?) onto hahahaha. Wow, you must be a loyal sfinterista, probarbly why you just jumped on board after they started winning a game or two.

Anyways after you killed the name of about 4 different posters (actually Marco was nice, you should bring him back) you tryed to create another, Svergentina. Svergentina? Widdle boy, you’ve had plenty of practice creating fake user names, what.the.fuck.is.Svergentina?

Anyways guys, the reason for that was let him say what he wants, we only have to go through too or three years of humiliation. This widdle boy on the other hand? Well see above if you want an insight into the kind of life he’s going to have

k – maybe im showing my age (memory) but the way i remember last season was that we lost pirlo early on and Rino EASILY filled the gap was pretty electric until he was out injured himself and even admitted that he was genuinely weighing up the Bayern offer

looking at us now, i would have told him to take it in the same way i would shipped out Pirlo over the summer

if we got £15mil plus from chelski we would have been laughing!

I invented the following nicknames: Marco, Francesco, Mickey, and The Troll. All supposed other nicknames that this chihuahua has accused me of using are false as I have never even fucking heard of “Svergentina”. And the sfinterista thing is getting old, I laugh at how fools like you still consider your precious team to be superior to us, like I said I’d rather have football do all the talking. Oh wow real original with the sfinterista thing, oh but hey while were on the topic of crappy little nicknames for teams we hate why dont I just call you guys Bilanisti after all you did go to Serie B and you may do it again this year :)

Well the whole purpose of inventing nicknames is to see whether the average blogger is dumb enough to buy them. And Im sure you people wouldnt have been able to tell it was me all along if you hadnt been able to fucking see my IP address which is by the way an unfair advantage and could possibly be illegal. Besides their could just be four different people using the same computer at different times, you never know.

“I’ve always said since I left United that to play for another English club would be difficult.”

Avia, I thought he got his BM offer last year in the summer of 08 and then was convinced by Galliani to stay. And then turned in those performances. Got injured in december(or something), vowed to return asap, but is yet to show the form he did last year.

The real problem is the way media hypes up things and fanboys. These are two elements that are just building not needed pressure on the players, coach and club. I beleive this is a lot to do with the quick fix modern age. Get a new coach, buy new players, heck just, get a new owner. I think all these people dont really care about Milan, only about bragging rights, to say “HEY MILAN IS THE GREATEST AND I SUPPORT THEM”. True fans are there in all things not only when winning and patience usually has its reward. Just think, if alex ferguson had been sacked by united for not winning a single trophy in SIX years. (And he was an EXPERIENCED COACH). Yet united and its dans stood by him and now look, united has won more than any other club in the recent past and fergie is prob the best european coach of all time. wow. Patience has its reward. So dont be fanboys and glory hunters calling for the sack, or firing of players etc. Just stick with Milan and they will be great again.
