Milan Primavera beat Cremonese 2-1 at Vismara today. AC Milan are reporting that first team centre-back Mattia Caldara made his first competitive appearance since April. The defender played the opening 45 minutes of the game making a huge stride forward in his journey to full fitness. The youngster has struggled to establish himself at Milan since joing from Juventus in a swap deal worth €35 million for Leonardo Bonucci. He has been injured three times and has been sidelined for over 6 months on each occasion. Milan currently host a centre-back partnership of Alessio Romagnoli and Matteo Musacchio while Leo Duarte is the backup. Caldara will be expected to join the group and potentially start in the coming months.

MilanNews.it are quoting the Primavera coach Giunti praising the progress of Caldara. The defender has only managed to play twice for Milan since joining, once in the Europa League and once in the Coppa Italia. We hope for his quick recovery and rehabilitation so he can support the first team and shore up our defence.
