Can we afford to lose Allegri? Even if we can, and some of us wants this so badly the board and their new policy regarding the salaries couldn’t afford to lose him, probably. We will owe him at least the full salary for next couple of seasons if he can’t find a job, and if Milan fires you, you won’t have pretty good reputation. But, if you can manage this ‘squad’ that the board wore it with ‘red and black’ colors that no more has that ‘special’ meaning than you might be even ‘sainted’.
How childish were the first comments after the defeat from Atalanta? ‘Fire Allegri, bring Pippo!’ Seriously?! Ok, tell me how much do you know about Inzaghi coaching, or even better how smart was Inzaghi organizing the match, or moving the ball in the field while he played. Yes, he scored, and he found himself in great and mostly unexpected positions by the opponent, but he wasn’t some masterminded guy behind the whole team. I’m not implying that a striker can’t coach; I’m just saying that a strike like Pippo with no experience at all at coaching can’t coach a squad like Milan. And just take a look at all the ex-Milan players coaching. That Sacchi team was made to coach. And, maybe fortunately for us, some of those guys are unemployed right now. We can have Van Basten, Rijkaard and even Maldini can start his coaching career, even though I see him more like a man behind a desk, not next to the field.
Another option apparently is Benitez. What did he do? He did great job for us at Inter. And also we (Ancelotti) did him a great favor in 2005. They were never a great team, and he was never a great manager. I wouldn’t replace Allegri with him. I wouldn’t replace Allegri with most of the names being mentioned these days. But, I would change his stubborn mind.
While Milan was struggling to score in the previous two matches at home against quiet inferior teams, I expected a much more attacking formation against Anderlecht. He goes and puts three defensive midfielders with a single striker, and all that against Anderlecht. How would we play against Real Madrid, 6-4-0?!
Allegri’s formation hasn’t changed for the past 2 and almost half years at Milan. He either played 4-3-1-2 or 4-4-1-1. I complained a lot about ‘too defensive game’ in the first season, but that got us the title. Last year it was the same thing all over again. Playing with 4-3-3 was a lot of fun in the Leonardo’s year, but we struggled to defend with Favalli and co. With the attacking department overcrowded and with lacking of attacking midfielder we better return to that formation with short and fast wings. We should forget the crosses too. We don’t have height in the CF position and all we do is wasting opportunities.
Anyway Allegri knows best and he’ll lose most of any of us fans. He must find a way to get out of this or out of the club. I hope for the ‘greater good’ he will do the first thing. And for God’s sake use the bench better. Forget Constant and don’t be such a coward Mister. Attack more and put Carmona on the field. Yeah, he shined in Tim Cup and he’ll do better than all the guys we have at AMF position or as they call ‘trequartista’. Just do something otherwise start singing this song.
