Quick! Everyone stop pissing your pants and breathe!

I wont need to convince anyone that Serie A is now lagging behind the other leagues in Europe, at the current rate we will be (or already have been) overtaken by Germany, France and possibly Holland within the next few season unless there is a serious reversal or FFP helps restore some order. It isn’t helped that the IFA is an embodiment of every high level Italian organisation with a level of bureaucracy that would make an Indian politician blush.

The IFA, although showing the green shoots of change, has for too long rested on previous achievements. It could be accused of becoming cumbersome and out of step whilst seemingly staffed by people who appear to have been too busy jockeying for position or serving self interests and has helped pave the path we now find ourselves having to grudgingly walk down. Add into the mix the eyebrow raising ratio of crazy club owners in Italy coupled with the high strung Ultras with all the BS that they also bring in tow and with Calciopoli and more recent matching fixing claims blighting the coach of the current Italian champions it’s not surprising but we could easily be discussing the crisis of Italian football right about now.

Instead I would like to concentrate on my Milan. We have gotten off to a bad start, I’ve only watched a few matches of the season and its obvious that we lack a true leader out there on the pitch. If you recall the last two seasons, the presence of Ibra gave the rest of the squad (and the fans) a level of assurance that you see in the weakling who hangs out with the playground bully. All I see now is the weakling with no bully to fall back on. Pato may come back but he simply doesn’t bring the level of belief that Ibra inspires, in fairness I truly cant think of any of our current players who genuinely "inspire".

Allegri isn’t to blame for the current predicament, we lost a boatload of players which only happened to include Ibra, Nesta & Silva and he surely didn’t want to have the squad he has now. In fact it appears to be the case that he allegedly made requests for both Hamsik & Nene which torpedoes some of the beliefs held by his critics (but don’t expect the repetition of BS regarding Allegri to stop!)

So what should Allegri do? Well, if we have learned anything from the injury supercrisis of last season its that Allegri is good at juggling the squad to tide things over. Unfortunately he will need to do more than that as he is also now having to make up for the drop in squad quality, its due to this drop in quality that I think there is a question mark in Allegri now chopping & changing formation but happy to be proven wrong on this!

Ignore those who talk of the need for or lack of "technical" this that or the other. That doesn’t mean though that I’m against the concept I simply want to point out the short-sightedness/hypocrisy/double standards of those who are always the 1st in the queue to ignore the simple fact that we won a scudetto without the floppy haired one and the following season outscored every team in Serie A. Don’t go fooling yourselves that this goalfest was all Ibra. Out of the 70+ goals scored last season Ibra accounted for 24 (ish) hence the other 40+ goals are attributed to a clutch of players, which isn’t too shabby for a team without "no proper CAM" or "flat track bullies" no??

"Well then lets blame the management" I hear you cry, I would have to retort "Blame them for what exactly?" ensuring the sustainability of this club?? I’m willing to entertain arguments that Berlu should sell but some people just don’t see the simple economics. HOW would Berlu manage to sell the club if its outgoings are massive? If your on the market looking to buy a car or a home you are normally swayed by the one with the cheapest outgoings. Not many people rush to buy a car that is several months away from needing a major overhaul in the same way a surveyors report detailing the fact that the house you want to buy needs the foundations re-laid will have you running in the direction of something far more "sensible". If someone is going to throw down a large sum of money for the club it will based solely on the fact that the outgoings arent going to be horrendous. In case you’ve missed it we are currently in the grip of a financial meltdown that is hitting pretty much everyone bar the Middle East & Asia. I dont know about you but the idea of someone outside of Europe buying Milan I find makes me uneasy and would prefer someone from Italy or at least Europe but this is only realistically going to happen if Milan is financially solvent in the first place ie even a European billionaire is going to baulk at the idea of taking up a risky investment.

Again, I expect that hypocrites to pipe up about "bad management" with regards to the colossal wage bill but find it odd that these same people were applauding along with the rest of us when we 1st signed Ibra on a megabucks contract and patted Fester on the back for upping Silva’s wages after PSG’s initial bid for the Brazilian failed, but hey the wind is blowing in another direction now so lets about turn! Its pretty pathetic but at least you get to feel all smug!

For the "I told you so" party, I say SHAME on you. I’ve not managed a full catch up but happy to really stick the boot into "fans" who derive pleasure in the clubs misfortune when it helps you prove something. Oh yes, it feels good to look smart but happy to call out anyone who seems to revel in a sense of pride whilst wearing the "fan" badge.

Like I was told once before even a broken clock is right twice a day! So could all the broken clocks kindly pipe down and do your best to try and "support" your club as this is a Milan blog after all largely attended by fans (with the odd imbecile thrown in for our pleasure) you have been warned!

Some of us saw this coming, some of the players even warned us to batten down the hatches, the owner even came out and told us that things aint all that great at the moment yet the majority of the people here arent taking pleasure in the lack of wins recently and I would ask those who fall into this category to continue to suck it up as fans. We have been fed from the golden spoon in football I’m happy to take abit of medicine along the way!

For the record I’m happy to deal with the low level signings on the assumption that it isn’t forever and its just to help us get back on track financially as the long term sustainability of this club means more to me than others it would appear.

Sorry if this comes across as abrupt or harsh but im really not in the mood to read the kinda whining that is akin to reading the "World-is-ending" sobbings of a 12 year old girl’s diary who has just been told that her Justin Bieber concert is cancelled!

Milan lives on and for those who have been around long enough have witnessed Milan in a worse state, what you are seeing now is NOTHING compared to how bad it could be (11th place finish anyone?)

:D
